Learn more about our benefits.\nApplied Materials is seeking an experienced Functional Analyst to support business-critical laboratory operations systems and digital solutions used across global engineering, research, and manufacturing labs. This role will partner with business stakeholders, laboratory teams, and IT organizations to support application enhancements, process improvements, user onboarding, and operational support.\nThe position will also provide functional coordination and support for laboratory mobility solutions, including tablets, mobile devices, barcode technologies, printers, and other peripherals that enable efficient laboratory operations. The successful candidate will work across multiple sites and regions, ensuring solutions meet business requirements and support standardized processes across the enterprise.\nKey Responsibilities\nBusiness Applications & Digital Solutions\nSupport enterprise laboratory operations and workflow management solutions.\nGather, analyze, and document business requirements.\nTranslate business needs into functional specifications and user stories.\nPartner with development teams to deliver system enhancements.\nCoordinate user acceptance testing and production deployments.\nSupport incident management and service request resolution.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization.\nLaboratory Operations Support\nSupport solutions used for asset tracking, operational workflows, resource scheduling, and laboratory activities.\nWork closely with laboratory personnel to improve operational efficiency.\nIdentify and implement process automation opportunities.\nCoordinate onboarding of new laboratories, users, and operational workflows.\nMobility & Peripheral Device Support\nProvide functional coordination for mobile device solutions used in labs.\nSupport tablet-based workflows and business processes.\nCoordinate printer onboarding, configuration, and troubleshooting activities.\nCollaborate with infrastructure and endpoint teams to ensure device readiness.\nAssist with adoption of new technologies supporting laboratory operations.\nStakeholder Engagement\nAct as a liaison between business users, product owners, and technical teams.\nConduct requirement workshops and process reviews.\nDevelop process documentation, training materials, and knowledge articles.\nSupport change management and end-user adoption initiatives.\nEquipment Automation & Systems Integration Support\nSupport laboratory equipment automation solutions and operational technology workflows used across engineering and R&D environments.\nPartner with laboratory, engineering, and IT teams to analyze automation-related business processes and system requirements.\nCoordinate functional support for equipment-to-application integrations and automated data collection processes.\nAssist in troubleshooting automation workflow issues and coordinate resolution with development, engineering, and infrastructure teams.\nSupport onboarding of new laboratory equipment, automation-enabled workflows, and associated business processes.\nParticipate in testing and validation of automation-related system enhancements and integrations.\nMaintain documentation for laboratory automation processes, interfaces, and operating procedures.\nLaboratory Security & Compliance Support\nSupport laboratory application security processes, user access management, and role-based access controls.\nCoordinate user provisioning, access reviews, and access request fulfillment activities.\nPartner with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure laboratory systems comply with corporate security standards.\nAssist with audit readiness activities, security documentation, and compliance reviews.\nSupport implementation and adoption of security controls for laboratory applications, mobile devices, and connected equipment.\nCoordinate remediation of security findings, vulnerabilities, and compliance-related action items.\nPromote security best practices and user awareness across laboratory environments.\nGlobal Operational Support\nSupport business users across multiple locations, regions, and time zones.\nParticipate in issue triage, problem management, and operational reviews.\nMonitor application support trends and recommend improvements.\nSupport critical business operations and escalation management processes.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.\n5+ years of experience as a Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, or Application Analyst.\nExperience supporting enterprise business applications and operational systems.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExperience gathering and documenting business requirements.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nExperience working with global teams and cross-functional organizations.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting manufacturing, engineering, laboratory, or operational technology environments.\nExperience with asset management, workflow management, inventory tracking, or operations systems.\nKnowledge of mobile device solutions, printers, barcode technologies, and peripheral integrations.\nExperience with Agile methodologies and Jira.\nFamiliarity with enterprise integrations involving ERP, asset management, or operational systems.\nExperience supporting geographically distributed business operations.\nAdditional including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
