Learn more about our benefits.\nAs a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll leverage your strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and materials science to process and resolve mechanical problems, design and implement custom mechanical tooling and associated processes, and enable the handling, assembly, and disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and modifying mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, and specifications. You will oversee manufacturing and installation processes, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations-- and you'll coordinate the procurement and assembly of mechanical components and equipment for design projects, identifying sources of critical parts and subsystems to resolve technical issues.Key Responsibilities\nProblem identification and troubleshooting a variety of difficult mechanical problems with limited supervision\nDefine, coordinate, perform, and document engineering test reports with limited supervision\nDevelop, design, or modify mechanical engineering layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of difficult scope\nPerform engineering analysis of difficult scope with limited supervision\nTechnically lead and/or execute engineering projects, including development of key suppliers. Generate mechanical product specifications.\nMay be responsible for the design, development and implementation of custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes to enable the handling, assembly and/or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle. Establishes standards across all operational processes\nSpecify and review engineering documentation\nImplements concepts for variety of complex product issues and mechanical solutions\nEducation Qualification\nPhD/ Master/ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering\nFew years of relevant experiences in semiconductor equipment design or troubleshooting experiences\nFunctional Knowledge\nProficient in simulation and analysis methods (FEA, thermal analysis and tolerance analysis)\nStrong in the following fields: Thermal, Compressible flow, Engineering Design, Machining & manufacturing processes\nAbility to craft clear engineering documentation\nAbility to form effective cross-functional relationships and to communicate product design/mechanical requirements clearly to non-experts\nInterpersonal Skills\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders\nSelf-starting individual, proactive and resourceful\nWork Location\nScience Park II (Moving to Tampines office starting mid-2027)\nAdditional Information\nTime Type:\nFull timeEmployee Type:\nAssignee / RegularTravel:\nNoRelocation Eligible:\nNoApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
