Learn more about our benefits.\nTitle: Primary Planner\nGrade : E2/ E2S\nJob Description:\nThe Primary Planner is responsible for end-to-end planning and coordination of materials, production schedules, and supply chain activities to support customer demand and business objectives within the Varian Semiconductor Business Unit. This role serves as the focal point for planning activities, ensuring material availability, production readiness, inventory optimization, and on-time delivery of products while collaborating with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, and Program Management.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop, maintain, and execute production and material plans to meet customer demand and business commitments.\nAnalyze demand forecasts and translate requirements into actionable production schedules.\nEnsure material availability through effective coordination with Procurement, Sourcing, and Suppliers.\nMonitor and manage inventory levels to balance customer service, inventory investment, and operational efficiency.\nLead planning activities for New Product Introduction (NPI), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and product transitions.\nIdentify supply chain risks, material shortages, and capacity constraints and develop mitigation plans.\nCoordinate with Manufacturing to support production schedules and ensure on-time order fulfillment.\nTrack and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, inventory turns, backlog, and schedule adherence.\nSupport Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes through demand and supply analysis.\nMaintain planning data integrity within ERP/MRP systems.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning efficiency, inventory performance, and supply chain execution.\nCollaborate with global stakeholders to ensure alignment of supply and demand across business operations.\nRequired Qualifications\n5+ years of experience in production planning, material planning, supply chain management, or manufacturing operations.\nExperience working in a high-tech manufacturing environment, preferably semiconductor capital equipment.\nStrong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and supply chain planning processes.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAPICS CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent certification.\nExperience supporting semiconductor equipment manufacturing or complex engineered products.\nKnowledge of inventory optimization, demand planning, and capacity planning methodologies.\nExperience managing product lifecycle changes and ECO implementation.\nKey Competencies\nSupply Chain Planning\nMaterial Requirements Planning (MRP)\nInventory Management\nDemand and Capacity Planning\nData Analysis and Reporting\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nRisk Management\nContinuous Improvement\nCommunication and Stakeholder Management\nProject Coordination\nAdditional Information\nTime Type:\nFull timeEmployee Type:\nAssignee / RegularTravel:\nYes, 10% of the TimeRelocation Eligible:\nYesApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
