Our PROVision algorithm team does applied research to reach state-of-the-art performance and build ground-breaking eBeam metrology products for PDC and the wider semiconductor industry.\nAbout us:\nWe develop innovative machine learning, computer vision and image processing solutions for eBeam metrology. Examples include CD and overlay measurement, contour extraction and segmentation, image quality, distortion and drift correction, denoising, and defect-sensitive metrology.\nProvide professional and technical leadership to the developers working on the flow. That means setting direction, writing and maintaining the work plan, reviewing code and results, and holding the team to a high standard of experiment hygiene and reproducibility.\nStay hands-on: lead concept and feasibility work, compare candidate approaches on precision, accuracy, runtime and memory, and design for the tool’s real operating constraints from day one.\nDefine the metrics the flow is judged on (precision, accuracy, tool-to-tool matching, robustness across layers and customers) and build the evaluation sets and test harnesses that measure them.\nDrive the hand-over into the product. This covers Python-to-C++ parity, testing, integration into the recipe flow, and documentation and BKMs for the field.\nWork directly with applications, product, field and customer fab engineers to analyze gaps, collect data, and support integration and proliferation at customer sites.\nEvaluate new technologies and published work, and turn the relevant ideas into concrete proposals for our flows.\nWhat You Should Have?\nM.Sc. (or above) in exact sciences. Ph.D. - an advantage.\n4+ years of hands-on algorithm development in Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, with extensive coding in Python.\nStrong algorithmic and technical background, with a proven track record of taking algorithms from research to production.\nProven experience in professional or technical leadership, such as guiding other engineers, setting technical direction, or owning a major module or project. A formal Tech Lead title is not required.\nAbility to work independently on complex, open-ended problems, with a broad perspective and an innovative, “can do” approach.\nStrong communication skills and experience working with internal and external customers.\nFast learner with strong autodidactic capabilities.\nAdvantages: experience in semiconductor, metrology or inspection; C++; algorithms for runtime-constrained or CPU-only environments; multidisciplinary products.\nWho we are?\nApplied Materials Israel is home to the Process Diagnostics and Control business unit (PDC).
