Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality. You'll develop software documentation and test procedures, troubleshoot software problems, and communicate with internal customers to understand project requirements. As part of our team, you'll contribute your expertise in intricate systems, deciphering code, and anticipating software behaviors to ensure Applied remains the leader in the semiconductor and display sectors.Role Responsibilities:\nAssist software related activities. e.g. preparation/verification/installation/upgrade\n\nTraining Customer to well understanding software functionality and feature\n\nTroubleshooting, investigation, analysis and classification of complex software issues.\n\nReview and understand complex software documentation.\n\nField expert on system software, focused on building customer satisfaction in APPLIED NEXX products\n\nWork with service and process team for field issues to provide software solution.\n\nVisit APPLIED NEXX customer sites to assist with software upgrades and machine troubleshooting. This will include customers in Asia, and Europe.\n\nProvide real time support for field service engineers troubleshooting our distributed IO interfaces, including Modbus over Ethernet, EtherCat, and legacy serial devices.\n\nDefine software test plans for simulators.\n\nCommunicate with internal and external customers for requirement analysis, project schedule and software troubleshooting\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in computer science or related field, computer science, information management, software/system engineering, Electrical, Electronic or mathematics.\n\n3-7 years of related experience\n\nProficiency and experience in C/C++, .Net, C#,Operating Systems, Networking principles, Algorithms, Multi-threading, RPC\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor degree in a related field\n\nStrong knowledge of industry best practices, key business drivers, and how your area of expertise integrates with others\n\nLeadership skills to lead small projects as needed\n\nAble to travel to customer site and support for software related activities.\nAble to apply a structured and logical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving with Customer and internally.\nAble to travel to other Asia region to support internationally.\n3~5 year’s experience working in the semiconductor industry is plus.\nFamiliarity with equipment control software testing and quality control is plus\nKnowledge of SEMI SECS/GEM communications standards is plus\nGood teamwork skills\nAdditional Information\nTime Type:\nFull timeEmployee Type:\nAssignee / RegularTravel:\nYes, 25% of the TimeRelocation Eligible:\nNoApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
