Learn more about our benefits.\nWe are looking for a highly talented Software GPS Engineer to join our unique team.\nWhat’s in it for you?\nProvide SW Support for our products installed at customer sites around the world, working with global support functions, R&D, HW, and Application teams to make sure our tools function as designed. It will be a perfect fit for a highly skilled and motivated Fab Interface / Fab Automation Engineer with a strong background in the semiconductor industry.\nWhat you'll be doing:\nFunction as a technical support Tier for SW issues\nSupport all customer tool issues that don’t require code changes.\n\nIndependently resolve customer complex issues by analyzing product and system/computing issues (SW, IT, Computing, databases)\n\nProvide troubleshooting plans and technical solutions to field and Tiel-1 Tier-2 teams.\n\nReproduce customer issues on internal systems. Perform Root Cause Analysis.\n\nProactively identify points of failure and drive for resolution.\n\nInvolvement in new SW development\n\nTake part in SW development road map milestones, new features reviews, and customer demos.\n\nCreate and maintain the lab environment and perform Dry-run activities for new SW versions.\n\nActively participate in new products introduction discussions.\n\nOn-site Projects:\n\nPerform new installations/SW upgrades on customer semiconductor fabs.\n\nTroubleshoot complex cases and field support teams.\n\nSupport Infrastructure:\n\nDevelop training programs for field engineers and end users.\n\nProactively drive support-related feature developments within the team.\n\nInitiate Support-related Specs, improvements, utilities and Document solutions, procedures, best-known methods\n\nDevelop in-house utilities, and tools, and work with the DevOps team to implement the same ideas, that enhance customer experience.\n\nRequired Education:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.\n\nCustomer Experience: Collect end-user pain points and work on solutions.\n\nWhat should you have?\n\nSelf-Learning capability and passion to learn new technology.\n\n3+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry, preferably in fab automation or equipment integration.\n\nStrong understanding of SECS/GEM, HSMS, and factory automation systems.\n\nExperience with MES systems, equipment control software, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl, or Shell).\n\nFamiliarity with equipment communication protocols and standards.\n\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.\n\nStrong communication and collaboration abilities.\n\nAdvantage: Code debugging skills.\n\nAdvantage: Experience in SW development / SW testing and integration\n\nAdditional Information\nTime Type:\nFull timeEmployee Type:\nAssignee / RegularTravel:\nYes, 20% of the TimeRelocation Eligible:\nYesApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
