As an organization built on diversity, our team members are representative of the students we support.\nThe Opportunity:\nApplyBoard is seeking a highly analytical and investigative Associate Support Manager - Complianceto strengthen our fraud prevention and application integrity capabilities.\nThis role will be responsible for identifying suspicious behaviors, building detection logic, and partnering with Product, Operations, and Support teams to prevent fraudulent applications across the student lifecycle. The ideal candidate combines investigative thinking, data analysis, and operational judgment to safeguard institutional trust and platform credibility at scale.\nYou will play a critical role in protecting students, recruitment partners, and institutions by proactively detecting risk patterns and developing scalable compliance processes.\nWhat you will be doing everyday:\nFraud Detection & Risk Analysis\nInvestigate suspicious student applications, documents, and behavioral patterns across the application journey.\n\nBuild and refine fraud detection models, rule sets, and risk indicators based on historical trends and emerging tactics.\n\nIdentify high-risk recruitment partner behaviors and escalate potential integrity violations.\n\nAnalyze datasets to detect anomalies in submissions, outcomes, and document authenticity.\n\nOperational Compliance & Case Management\nReview flagged cases and determine appropriate action (approval, rejection, escalation, or monitoring).\n\nMaintain clear audit trails and documentation for all compliance decisions.\n\nEnsure adherence to institutional policies, immigration regulations, and internal risk guidelines.\n\nSupport complex cases including credibility concerns, document manipulation, and outcome discrepancies.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with Product and Data teams to improve automated risk scoring and detection workflows.\n\nWork with Support and Operations teams to implement preventive controls within daily processes.\n\nProvide actionable insights to leadership on emerging fraud trends and systemic risks.\n\nAssist Training teams in educating internal staff and partners on compliance best practices.\n\nPrevention & Continuous Improvement\nDevelop proactive prevention strategies to reduce fraud at source rather than post-submission.\n\nRecommend platform safeguards, validations, and user-experience changes to reduce misuse.\n\nCreate dashboards and reporting to track fraud rates, detection accuracy, and resolution outcomes.\n\nContinuously refine policies to balance customer experience with platform security.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Criminology, Finance, or related field.\n\n3-6 years experience in Compliance, Risk, Fraud Detection, Trust & Safety, or Investigations.\n\nStrong analytical thinking and ability to identify patterns within large datasets.\n\nExperience reviewing documents and identifying inconsistencies or manipulation indicators.\n\nExcellent judgment, attention to detail, and decision-making ability.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills for sensitive escalations.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in EdTech, immigration, financial risk, KYC, or Trust & Safety operations.\n\nExposure to fraud detection models, risk scoring, or behavioral analytics.\n\nFamiliarity with CRM tools, ticketing systems, or data visualization dashboards.\n\nExperience working with international student application processes.\n\nWhy Join ApplyBoard\nDirect impact on protecting global education ecosystem integrity.\n\nOpportunity to build scalable fraud prevention systems at a global platform.\n\nWork closely with Product, Data, and Operations leadership.\n\nHelp shape the future of trust in international education mobility.\n\nAbout ApplyBoard\nApplyBoard empowers students around the world to access international education.
