In this role, you'll be responsible for driving design, process, and performance improvements across the entire robotic system, from individual components to the full-stack assembly. This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer with a passion for robotics and a proven track record of optimizing complex electrical systems.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n PCBA Design for ExcellenceProvide feedback and develop processes for design for manufacturing and test (DFM, DFT) for PCBAs and wiring harnesses.\nWork with supply chain to manage bills of materials (BOM), component sourcing, and component substitutions.\nWork with vendors and manufacturing leading up to design release, at design release, and during initial builds.\nSupport electrical engineering team on new designs as needed.\n\nDebug SpecialistConduct root cause analysis on system failures, performance issues, and production inefficiencies to implement robust solutions.\nCoordinate and implement root cause corrective actions.\nDevelop design documentation to support system bring-up and system field deployment.\nDefine and support compliance, EMI, EMC, safety, and reliability testing as needed.\n\n Leader for Electrical Engineering Development ProcessesLead continuous improvement initiatives for the Apollo humanoid robot, identifying and addressing opportunities for improvement in design, manufacturing, and field support.\nMaintain processes for design release, product lifecycle management, manufacturing team support, engineering change orders.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers, to integrate improvements seamlessly.\nDevelop and implement best practices for electrical assembly, testing, and quality control.\nDocument all design changes and improvements thoroughly, ensuring clear communication and knowledge transfer.\nMentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers\n\nSKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS\nExperience with product lifecycle management and PLM systems such as Arena\nCompetent in CAD tools including Altium, or similar tools\nExperience with developing and maintaining CAD design rules\nProven experience designing, prototyping, and debugging PCB/PCBAs as well as interfacing with manufacturing groups during release/build\nFamiliarity/experience with electronics lab tools and simulation tools (ex: LTSpice, PSpice)\nExcellent communication (verbal & written); will be expected to develop detailed build assembly instructions and diagrams\nExcellent problem-solving and hardware debugging skills\nHands-on experience with prototyping and testing, including the use of lab equipment.\nTravel up to 10% within US and internationally\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:\nBachelors, Masters, or PhD degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering \n4 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer with relevant experience\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer\nMust be able to lift 15 pounds at times\nVision to read printed materials and a computer screen\nHearing and speech to communicate\n*This is a direct hire.
