Specifically, we seek a Mechanical Engineer with proven capabilities in electric actuation design - electric motors, drivetrains, electromechanical packaging, joint/mechanism design, and testing to support the development of our next-generation humanoid robotics system.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES or KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES\nLead detailed design and analysis of actuators (rotary and linear)\nGuide junior engineers to improve their designs\nCollaborate with a small cross-disciplinary team of engineers\nParticipate in creative brainstorming for concept generation \nConduct engineering analysis to drive design decisions\nCompare concepts via iterative design, prototype, assembly, and test\nPerform analysis (FEA, etc.) to optimize and validate design\nCreate GD&T-informed drawings, a Bill of Material, and procurement documentation\nProduce assembly instructions and finalize project documentation\nParticipate in pilot build of your designs\nPerform DVP&R to ensure design meets requirements\nIterate on design to harden for scalability and DFMA\nSKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS\nMastery of engineering fundamentals / first principles\nHigh proficiency in CAD (NX, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)\nDemonstrated hands-on experience prototyping and testing mechanical components.\nExceptional attention to detail\nExcellent teamwork and collaboration \nOutstanding organizational and time management skills\nThe ability to multi-task and manage conflicting deadlines \nStrong written and verbal communication \nGreat team player able to perform within a dynamic start-up environment\nKnowledge of kinematics, structures (statics), dynamics, joints/mechanisms, and electromechanical packaging optimization\nExperience in designing with planetary gears and linear transmissions is preferred\nExperience in humanoid/legged robotics is preferred\nUnderstanding of motor control systems and PCB layout principles is preferred\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE\nBachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related field\n6+ years in development of actuation and/or robotic systems or similar\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS \nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer\nMust be able to lift 15 pounds at times\nVision to read printed materials and a computer screen\nHearing and speech to communicate\n*This is a direct hire.
