This is a hybrid engineering role, development-first in nature, where the primary focus is on building automation solutions, tools and scripts that power APOC initiatives. When the queue demands it, the same engineer will shift to quality validation, ensuring the reliability, scalability and correctness of solutions developed within the team.\nThe ideal candidate is a strong Python developer who also brings hands-on QA capabilities - someone comfortable writing production-grade automation code as their core work, and equally capable of stepping into structured testing, API validation and defect analysis as needed. This dual capability makes you a force multiplier on a fast-moving APOC team.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelopment (Primary Focus)\nDesign, develop and maintain Python-based automation tools, scripts and integrations for APOC solutions.\nBuild reusable automation frameworks, utilities and internal tooling to accelerate proof-of-concept delivery.\nDevelop REST API integrations, backend services and workflow automation components.\nWrite clean, well-documented and maintainable Python code following engineering best practices.\nCollaborate with APOC Architects, Product Managers and Engineering teams to translate requirements into working solutions.\nParticipate in solution design discussions, technical reviews and architecture deep dives.\nSet up, configure and manage automation environments and solution infrastructure for APOC demonstrations and pilots.\nQuality Engineering (As Queue Demands)\nDevelop and execute test strategies, test plans and validation frameworks for APOC initiatives.\nPerform functional, integration, API, regression and exploratory testing of proof-of-concept solutions.\nBuild and maintain API test automation using Python and industry-standard frameworks.\nValidate scalability, data flows, system integrations, workflow functionality and solution performance.\nIdentify, document, prioritize and track defects through to resolution.\nExecute root cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions.\nValidate security, reliability and performance aspects of APOC environments where applicable.\nContribute to QA best practices, reusable testing assets and documentation standards.\nWhat You Bring/Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.\n4-8 years of total experience, with a strong foundation in Python development and automation.\nHands-on Python development experience - writing scripts, automation tools, API integrations or backend utilities.\nProven experience in API development and testing using REST principles.\nExperience with QA practices including test planning, test design, defect management and validation reporting.\nStrong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum and software engineering best practices.\nProven ability to work across both development and testing workstreams within the same engagement.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.\nTechnical Skills\nMust Have\nPython (primary language - development, scripting, automation)\nREST API Development & Testing\nPostman\nGit\nPyCharm / VS Code\nTest Planning, Test Design and Validation\nFunctional, Integration and Regression Testing\nAgile/Scrum Methodologies\nLinux and Windows Environments\n Preferred / Good to Have\nPython automation frameworks (pytest, Robot Framework or similar)\nSelenium or similar UI automation\nMongoDB - validation, querying and data verification\nJenkins / CI-CD pipeline integration\nPerformance and Load Testing tools\nDocker or containerized environment experience\nExposure to security validation and networking concepts\nUnderstanding of distributed systems and complex integrations\nNetworking and Security domain knowledge\nPreferred Attributes\nComfortable switching between development and QA modes based on team needs\nPassion for quality, automation and building things that actually work end-to-end.\nStrong ownership mindset - takes a task from requirement to delivery independently.\nThrives in fast-paced, ambiguous APOC-style environments with evolving requirements.\nExperience working on customer-facing solutions, pilots or proof-of-concept initiatives.\nQuick learner who can pick up new technologies, APIs and solution domains rapidly.\nStrong documentation skills - code comments, test reports and knowledge articles.\nWhy AppViewX?\nAppViewX caters to a wide range of customers from Fortune 1000 companies, including six of the top ten global commercial banks, five of the top ten global media companies, and five of the top ten managed healthcare providers.
