We focus on trusted relationships, clear communication, and efficiency at every stage of the engagement, so our clients can focus on their mission.\nWith you, our clients can Account for Anything™.\nAbout the role\nAprio is seeking a senior manager to lead assurance engagements for tax-exempt organizations, including engagements subject to Single Audit requirements under the Uniform Guidance. Nonprofits carry a heavier compliance load than many organizations their size, and the cost of a missed requirement is measured in funding, not just in findings. This role is for someone who knows that landscape well enough to help boards and finance teams see what is coming.\nYour primary focus will be nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations. You may support engagements in other industries as the practice needs, but your specialty is the reason we are hiring.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nEngagement and client management\nLead multiple audit, review, and other assurance engagements concurrently, from planning and risk assessment through final review and delivery.\nServe as the primary point of contact for an assigned book of clients and build relationships that extend past the engagement calendar.\nOwn technical quality, performing final review of workpapers, financial statements, and other client deliverables before partner sign-off.\nManage engagement economics, including budgets, work in process, billing, and realization, and raise scope changes early rather than at the end.\nCommunicate clearly and often with partners, team members, and clients on expectations, status, findings, and open items.\nResearch and document technical positions and help clients understand new standards before they take effect.\nSupervise and delegate across all staff levels, matching work to the right person and keeping engagements moving.\nBusiness development\nTake an active role in marketing the firm's services, contributing to proposals, and new business wins.\nBuild a network of referral sources, including attorneys, bankers, and other advisors in your industry.\nRecognize cross-serving opportunities across tax, advisory, and client accounting services, and bring the right Aprio team to the table.\nRepresent Aprio in industry associations, at conferences, and through thought leadership.\nTeam development\nCoach, develop, and energize associates, senior associates, and managers on your engagements.\nDeliver candid, timely feedback and act as a counselor to less experienced team members.\nContribute to training in your industry specialty and help raise technical capability across the practice.\nSupport recruiting and retention by helping build a team that people want to stay on.\nQualifications:\nRequired\nBachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field.\nActive CPA license.\nTen or more years of current or recent public accounting experience, with a concentration in audit and assurance.\nDemonstrated record of managing, coaching, and developing staff accountants.\nStrong analytical skills apply to financial statements and other financial information.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills with clients and colleagues.\nInitiative and sound judgment, with a willingness to lead, decide, and work independently.\nHigh standard of professional integrity and ethics.\nPreferred\nExperience presenting to boards, audit committees, owners, or lenders.\nExperience with data analytics or audit automation tools.\nIndustry qualifications -
