As Director of RAAS Managed Services, you will own the service end to end - defining the offering, standing up the operations, building the team, winning the first customers, and growing the practice into a scalable, profitable business line. This is an entrepreneurial, build-from-early-stage opportunity backed by the resources and relationships of a high-growth professional services firm. You will be equally comfortable writing a KQL detection rule, briefing a defense program manager, and presenting a P&L to executive leadership.\nWhat You'll Gain / Impact:\nRare opportunity to build and lead a first-of-its-kind MSSP practice within a nationally recognized professional services firm.\nFull ownership of a new business line from early stage through scale - including service design, go-to-market strategy, and team development.\nDirect impact on national security outcomes by protecting DIB and federal organizations.\nDeep partnership with Microsoft and hands-on access to the full Microsoft security ecosystem.\nHigh-visibility role with direct exposure to firm-wide executive leadership and growth strategy.\nKey Responsibilities\nService Strategy & Business Building\n\nDefine the MSSP service catalog - including managed detection and response (MDR), vulnerability management, identity threat protection, and CMMC compliance monitoring - including tiers, SLAs, and pricing models\nPartner with sales and business development on go-to-market strategy, solution positioning, proposals, and RFP/RFI responses, including federal and DoD contract vehicles\nServe as the senior technical voice in customer pursuits: lead discovery sessions, scoping, and executive presentations\nDevelop and leverage the Microsoft partnership to strengthen service capabilities and expand market presence\nTechnical Leadership & Operations\nArchitect a scalable, multi-tenant security operations platform built on Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, Defender for Cloud, Entra ID, Intune, and Purview, using Azure Lighthouse and Defender multi-tenant management\nEstablish SOC processes - triage, incident response, escalation, threat hunting, playbooks, and runbooks - with 24x7 coverage models\nDrive detection engineering and automation, including analytics rules, KQL hunting queries, workbooks, Logic Apps/SOAR playbooks, and Security Copilot use cases, with content managed as code (CI/CD, Git)\nDesign repeatable customer onboarding: data connector deployment, log source prioritization, ingestion cost optimization, and tuning\nDefine service KPIs (MTTD, MTTR, SLA attainment, false-positive rates, customer satisfaction) and report on them to customers and leadership\nDefense, Compliance & Security\nDeliver services in Microsoft 365 GCC High, Azure Government, and DoD environments, aligned to customer data sovereignty and ITAR/CUI handling requirements\nAlign service delivery with NIST SP 800-171, CMMC 2.0, DFARS 252.204-7012 (including 72-hour incident reporting), NIST 800-53, and FedRAMP requirements\nEnsure the MSSP's own operations, personnel, and facilities meet the security and clearance requirements needed to support defense customers\nSupport customers through CMMC assessments, audits, and Authority to Operate (ATO) processes\nPeople Leadership\nRecruit, hire, and develop a team of SOC analysts, security engineers, and detection engineers, many holding active clearances\nBuild a high-performance culture with clear career paths, certification plans, and on-call practices that avoid burnout\nCoach team leads and serve as the escalation point for major incidents and critical customer issues\nCandidate Qualifications\nRequired:\n8-12 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role managing technical teams.\nDemonstrated experience building or launching an MSSP, MDR, or managed SOC service - including service design, pricing, onboarding, and scaling to multiple customers.\nDeep, hands-on expertise with Microsoft Sentinel, including architecture, data connectors, analytics rules, KQL, workbooks, and automation.\nStrong working knowledge of Defender XDR (Endpoint, Identity, Office 365, Cloud Apps), Defender for Cloud, Entra ID, and Azure security architecture.\nExperience supporting Defense Industrial Base or DoD/federal customers, including GCC High or Azure Government environments.\nWorking knowledge of CMMC 2.0, NIST SP 800-171, DFARS 7012, and NIST 800-53.\nProven entrepreneurial track record: building from early stage, owning revenue or P&L, and operating with ambiguity and limited resources.\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical risk for executives, program managers, and contracting officers.\nU.S. citizenship required; active DoD Secret clearance required (TS/SCI strongly preferred).\nSC-200: Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate.\n SC-100: Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (required or within 6 months of employment).\n CISSP or CISM - at least one required (satisfies DoD 8140/8570 IAM/IAT Level II-III baseline).\nPreferred:\nExperience with other SIEM/SOAR platforms (e.g., Splunk, Elastic) and leading migrations to Microsoft Sentinel.\nBackground in incident response, threat hunting, or threat intelligence.\nExperience with infrastructure-as-code (Bicep, Terraform, ARM) and detection-as-code practices.\nFamiliarity with federal contracting, capture management, and contract vehicles.\nContributions to the Microsoft security community (Sentinel content hub, blogs, conference talks, MVP status).\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience;
