Advantage Advertising is looking for an experienced Finance Manager.
Purpose of the Job
The Finance Manager is responsible for all accounting and financial management functions of the Agency, including cash flow management, budget preparation, monitoring and reporting, audit preparation and statutory compliance, as well as the generation of timely financial data for strategic insights and decision-making.
Key Functions (KPAs)
Financial management & accounting - management of all financial transactions, including processing and maintaining the general ledger, creditors and debtors, fixed-asset registers, tracking of expenditure and revenue against agreed targets, performing weekly bank reconciliations, and calculating and submitting VAT reports to NAMRA.
Annual budget preparation, management and reporting - preparing the annual budget for management and Board approval. Ongoing monitoring of actual expenditure against the approved budget, and management of profitability margins of individual projects against set targets, with timely reporting of any emerging variances.
Management accounts and financial data reporting - preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting. Generation and sharing of financial insights and trends on an ongoing basis for strategic decision-making.
Payroll and statutory compliance - salary payments and reconciliation of the monthly payroll report. Ensure statutory compliance, including preparing and submitting PAYE (ITAS), Social Security and VET Levy returns, and making the related payments by the statutory due dates.
Annual external audit - managing and coordinating the annual external audit process, including preparing the audit-ready file and assisting the external auditors through to finalisation.
General financial and other business functions - management of any other financial and business aspects based on the operational requirements and other agreed-upon business objectives.
Education:
Accounting, B.Com Finance or qualification in related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years at middle to senior level. Experience in advertising agencies will be highly advantageous.
Key Requirements:
Excellent knowledge and understanding of financial tools and information.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in various financial software and accounting systems. Chase software expertise is an added advantage.
High attention to detail, accountability and the ability to accurately and ethically manage financial transactions, analyse financial data and generate financial insights and management reports to guide ongoing decision-making.
Understanding of reporting frameworks, as well as experience with the design of internal controls and different financial policies for effective risk management.
Experience in working capital management, including optimal debtors & creditors management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including in-depth working knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint.
Additional Requirements:
Good communication and command of the English language (excellent reading and writing).
Client relationship management experience for effective debtor and creditor management.
Driving license.
The chosen candidate will be required to commence work on 15 January, 2027.
