A review of the degree program curriculum may be completed by management.\nPreferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:\nBS in Electrical Engineering or Controls Engineering.\nProblem analysis/resolution techniques.\nKnowledge of applicable codes, standards, practices, methods and safety standards in the area of applicable engineering discipline.\nExperience in the utility industry.\nLevel II specific:\nBasic knowledge of digital logic.\nLevel III specific: \nBasic knowledge on Function block logic and ladder logic.\nKnowledge on basic instrumentation (level, flow, pressure, density, etc.) and communication protocols (ethernet, 4-20, hart, modbus etc.).\nAble to easily navigate computers including using command prompt commands.\nExperience building logic and graphics in a control system.\nNuclear Requirement:\nAny PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.\nAny PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.\nThis includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.\nThese are conditions of employment at PVNGS.\nMajor Accountabilities\nPrepares engineering plans, designs, analysis, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations, studies, technical reviews, investigations and verifications.\nComplies with design, regulatory, operating and maintenance requirements.\nEnsures engineering analyses, design, project control, schedule commitments, or oversight work is technically sound, cost effective, and in compliance with established standards, codes, and regulations.\nInterfaces with customers and other departments to ensure project objectives are understood and that work scope meets customer requirements, budget and schedule.\nPresents the results of designs, studies projects (in terms of new techniques) or approaches to subordinates, colleagues, management and customers.\nEnhances department performance and productivity and/or unit performance by formulating, coordinating, performing analysis and making recommendations for improvements.\nMay provide oversight of engineering technical programs by managing the program requirements, working with cross organizational partners, reviewing and internalizing operating experience and coordinating corrective actions to ensure engineering program elements continue to remain healthy.\nProvides input to projects and recommends modifications to increase operating efficiency and/or reviews design and documentation of projects to ensure compliance with design specifications, schedules and any regulatory requirements.\nRemains cognizant of current technology and engineering developments as well as industry and competitive developments.\nI/C WRF Specific:\nSupport Control and Monitoring System (C&MS) System Engineer with the following:\nTroubleshooting plant issues from the instrumentation to the Ovation Distributed Control System (DCS).\nTroubleshoot network communication issues.\nSupport plant in interpreting Ovation DCS strategies.\nSupport Engineering and Projects Groups on Ovation DCS and PLC modifications (strategy integration).\nSupport various tasks associated with the Water Resources Cyber Security Program. \nLevel III Specific:\nWork with Ovation DCS: Administration, control builder, graphics builder, and troubleshooting and monitoring using various Ovation tools.\nWork with Allen Bradley PLCs: administration, Studio 5000, building logic, and integrating with another DCS.\nMaintain cyber security standards with a DCS by way of cybersecurity PMs (taking backups, patching, antivirus, access control etc.).\nLAST REVISION DATE: 2/13/2026\nExport Compliance / EEO Statement\nThis position may require access to and/or use of information subject to control under the Department of Energy's Part 810 Regulations (10 CFR Part 810), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (15 CFR Parts 730 through 774), or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter M Part 120) (collectively, 'U.S. Export Control Laws').
