The candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with architects, technologists, product managers, remote development teams, and customer-facing teams to deliver capabilities across Wind River’s VxWorks and Studio products, and ensure teams develop high performance, good usability, and high quality capabilities for the products.\nResponsibilities\nManages team priorities and assignments. \nCollaborates with architects/senior developers and product managers to define, estimate, and plan feature development. \nWork with Agile Scrum Teams and lead the team to design, implement, and refine feature development, testing, and processes. \nOversees project logistics and resource allocation. \nStrives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs \nSecures the resources needed for teams to excel, including helping to identify hardware needs, tools needs, etc. \nHelps to create and oversee project budgets and engages in cost management strategies. \nCommunicates and engages with the field and customers on product and technology information. \nCollaborates with other team leaders and departments. \nQualifications\nBSc or higher degree (Computer Science, Computer/Electrical/Software Engineering) or equivalent work experience \n2+ years of managing teams doing software development \n7+ years working in software development arena \nIn-depth knowledge of Software certification\nCore Competencies and Demonstrated Success\nGood personnel and project management skills \nGood knowledge and understanding of embedded software technology and processes \nStrategic thinker \nStrong leadership, team building, and mentoring skills \nStrong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills \nCritical thinking and problem-solving skills \nAttention to detail \nFlexible thinking, including the ability to pivot and try new approaches when faced with challenges \nOrganizational, planning, and documentation skills \nProficiency using presentation software to explain complex information to non-technical management personnel and other stakeholders \nAbility to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously \nPast use of Agile/Scrum or similar collaborative tools a plus \nExperience in managing a team of several years \nIt will be great if you also have:\nKnowledge of DO-178C certification standard\nKnowledge and experience with software development tools such as Git, GitLab, Jenkins, JIRA \nFamiliarity with Agile and continuous integration and continuous development (CI/CD) or DevSecOps concepts. \nSoftware engineering experience with the full development lifecycle and processes, Agile and scrum project management tools (e.g. Jira); Scrum certifications (CSM, PSM, CSPO) are a plus \nFamiliarity with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS), RTOS development tools and Hypervisor\nPrivacy Notice - Active Candidates: https://www.aptiv.com/privacy-notice-active-candidates\nAptiv is an equal employment opportunity employer.
