The successful candidate will lead the development of new terminal stamping tools and improvements to existing tooling and manufacturing processes through technical estimating, business case development, and tool design activities.\nWorking closely with manufacturing, product engineering, sourcing, finance, and global metal stamping teams, this individual will develop cost-effective tooling solutions that support new business opportunities, localization projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nThis highly visible role provides exposure to global manufacturing operations and offers the opportunity to collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. The successful candidate will play a key role in influencing tooling strategies, capital investments, manufacturing technologies, and future business growth within one of Aptiv's most important manufacturing regions.\nLocated in Saltillo, Mexico, this position offers the opportunity to work in a thriving automotive manufacturing hub known for its strong industrial base, skilled workforce, and exceptional opportunities for professional growth and leadership development.\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop tooling, equipment, and process cost estimates for new business opportunities, localization projects, and capital investments. \nCreate and maintain business cases to support tooling, equipment, automation, and manufacturing improvement initiatives. \nPartner with commercial, product engineering, and manufacturing teams to evaluate and develop new business opportunities, localization strategies, and manufacturing investments that support the growth of Aptiv's Connection Systems business.\nDesign and support the development of progressive stamping dies, tooling revisions, and manufacturing process improvements. \nCollaborate with product engineering, manufacturing plants, sourcing, and suppliers to establish tooling concepts and assess manufacturing feasibility. \nSupport quotation activities by evaluating tooling requirements, manufacturing processes, cycle times, and investment costs. \nAnalyze technical and financial risks associated with new programs and capital projects and recommend mitigation strategies. \nWork with internal and external suppliers on tool design, build, and validation activities. \nSupport the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives focused on tool quality, cost reduction, productivity, and uptime. \nEvaluate existing tooling and manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for optimization and waste reduction. \nPrepare technical and financial presentations for leadership reviews related to new business opportunities and capital expenditures. \nSupport funding requests, capital appropriation packages, spending forecasts, purchase requisitions, and capitalization activities. \nCoordinate tooling timelines and deliverables to support program launch objectives for cost, quality, and timing. \nCollaborate with global engineering teams to establish and share best practices in metal stamping technology and tool design. \nSupport manufacturing plants during tool launches, troubleshooting activities, process validations, and production improvements. \nAdhere to all Aptiv Corporate, Signal & Power Solutions, Connection Systems, and local procedures. \nTravel domestically and internationally as needed to support manufacturing facilities, suppliers, and technical reviews. \nEnsure compliance with customer-specific requirements and production facility standards.\nWork Environment:\nThis role requires a mix of office and on-site work at Aptiv Technical Centers, Manufacturing Facilities, Supplier Locations, and Customer Sites. \nFull-time availability with regular presence Aptiv Technical Centers and support of Manufacturing Facilities is required. \nTravel may be required to support plant activities, supplier evaluations, tool tryouts, and technology investigations.\nMust Haves (i.e. Basic Qualifications):\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field OR Journeyman Tool and Die Maker\nDemonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD, Siemens NX, or similar design software.\nDemonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Power BI.\nExperience in tool design, manufacturing engineering, metal stamping, or a related field.\nExperience developing tooling, equipment, or manufacturing cost estimates.\nExperience supporting capital investment justification and business case development.\nWorking knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling construction, and production feasibility analysis.
