As a North America Packaging Engineer at Aptiv, you will play a key role within our Global Production Control & Logistics (PC&L) Operations, leading packaging activities from design through implementation.\nWorking closely with Plant PC&L Managers, Regional PC&L Directors, senior management, and other business functions, you will drive packaging optimization initiatives, support new product launches, improve logistics costs, and help enable efficient material flow across our operations.\nROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nPackaging Engineering & New Product Launch\nDesign, test, and implement outbound packaging for new product launches\nCoordinate packaging development from design through implementation\nRelease documentation and provide production-intent packaging at PV Build in support of launch performance goals\nParticipate in advanced material meetings prior to SOP to ensure original and alternative packaging solutions are implemented\nSupport packaging activities for RFQs\nPackaging Optimization & Cost Improvement\nDrive packaging optimization initiatives across the organization\nEnsure packaging value and percentage to sales outperform BBP targets\nSupport profitability improvement initiatives\nImprove returnable packaging flow management\nDrive robust logistics cost improvement projects\nProcess Excellence & Global Collaboration\nSupport the Global Packaging Engineering group in areas related to people, processes, roadmap, and financials\nEnsure compliance with packaging procedures and processes\nDefine RACI for inbound and outbound Packaging Planning\nShare packaging best practices across sites\nSupport customers in developing packaging excellence solutions\nLead performance management of site teams to drive excellence in KPI and forecast management\nContinuous Improvement\nParticipate in Kaizen and Gemba workshops as needed\nSupport the transformation of the Production Control & Logistics (PC&L) function\nPartner with plants, senior management, and other business functions to drive packaging and logistics improvements\n\nYour Background\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Business Management, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or another relevant field\n5+ years of significant experience in a business process role related to Supply Chain Operations, Manufacturing, and Logistics\nExtensive knowledge of Supply Chain processes, preferably within Operations, Manufacturing, and Logistics\nAdvanced knowledge of SAP and other relevant systems and tools, with professional user experience in a challenging environment\nGood English language skills\nExperience working in a challenging automotive environment\nStrong analytical mindset with a process-driven approach and the ability to evaluate performance from both process and people perspectives\nGood working knowledge of Microsoft Office and its integration with other systems\nLeadership and/or people management experience within a global team environment\nBasic understanding of Lean principles and tools preferred\nBasic knowledge of Six Sigma principles and tools preferred\nStrong analytical, creative, and collaborative problem-solving capabilities\nHands-on, entrepreneurial approach to learning and experimentation\nAbility to demonstrate resilience and approach challenges as opportunities for continuous improvement\nWhy Join Aptiv\nYou grow at Aptiv.\nAptiv's winning culture is global by design.
