For our team in Innsbruck, we are now looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join us as a Senior Software Developer.\nYour Role\nAs a Senior Software Developer you will be leading the development of the AQT software stack. Your main focus will be developing state-of-the-art software and creating new features for AQT's quantum computers, integrating established tools and software frameworks for optimal systems operation. You will tightly work with stakeholders from operations, research, and engineering to identify, implement, and enable them taking advantage of the new software features. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects simultaneously. This may include contributing to the development of internal tools and infrastructure to support the company's overall goals, participating in research and planning work as well as software architecture design. As a Senior Software Developer, you will be at the forefront of the quantum computing industry, pushing the boundaries of what is possible with cutting-edge technologies. Thus, if you are excited about the prospect of developing software that will help shape the future of quantum computing, then this is the perfect opportunity for you.\nYour Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain control software for AQT quantum computing systems and devices\nImplement software features spanning the stack from embedded control to user-facing APIs, including coding, debugging, documentation, and automated testing\nUse real-time control frameworks (e.g. on an FPGA or SoC systems) to build tools for programming and executing quantum circuits on quantum hardware\nCollaborate closely with hardware, system, and quantum engineers to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components\nDevelop new feature concepts, prototypes, and integrate them into operational software environments\nPerform code reviews and uphold best practices in software design and development\nSupport DevOps processes across the software development life cycle\nContribute to continuous improvement in both technical and team practices\nYour Qualifications\n3+ years of experience in software development, ideally including embedded or systems-level experience\nMSc (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field\nStrong proficiency in Python and/or Rust and experience with modern libraries and tools\nFamiliarity with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and state-of-the-art development workflows\nExperience or strong interest in embedded systems, real-time control (e.g. quantum control frameworks like ARTIQ), or digital signal processing is beneficial\nExposure to FPGAs, HDLs (e.g. Migen), or compiler technology (e.g., LLVM) is advantageous\nBackground in quantum physics and understanding of quantum computing concepts is a plus\nExcellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills\nComfortable working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, and multidisciplinary team environment\nStrong communication skills in both spoken and written English\nGood reasons to join AQT\nLook forward to working on ground-breaking technologies at the cutting-edge of the budding quantum industry.
