This role is focused on raising capital for Aquatic, mainly by bringing in new commitments from prospective investors, and on building the firm's reputation across the investor community to support future fundraising. You will also bring feedback and insights from the market back into the firm to help determine where Aquatic can improve its offerings.\nYou will work closely with senior leadership and colleagues across the firm, and represent Aquatic to current and prospective investors in the US, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The work is relationship-driven and highly visible, and it is directly tied to the growth of the firm.\nRole Details\nLead efforts to raise new capital for Aquatic, bringing in commitments from prospective investors, with a particular focus on international investors.\nIdentify and develop prospective investors through existing and new networks of contacts.\nMeet and build relationships with existing investors, understand their needs and history with Aquatic, and identify which investors may increase their allocations.\nLead all aspects of investor communications, presentations, and meetings, including marketing materials, monthly distributions, the annual update letter, and ad hoc investor queries.\nDevelop and refine the firm's marketing strategy, including a detailed marketing plan that extends fundraising efforts beyond short-term needs and is consistent with the firm's future direction.\nRepresent the firm at industry events and travel to meet investors across the US, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.\nStaff investor meetings thoughtfully, with an appreciation of relationship history and sensitivity to each investor's needs.\nProvide feedback on investor requirements and market appetite to help guide business development, firm strategy, and investment sector selection.\nTechnical Experience\nBachelor's degree required.\n6+ years of experience in investor relations, capital raising, or institutional sales at a hedge fund, asset manager, or similar firm.\nDemonstrated track record of raising capital from institutional investors such as pensions, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and funds of funds.\nAn established network of institutional investor relationships. International relationships in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East are strongly preferred.\nStrong understanding of hedge fund strategies and the ability to communicate Aquatic's investment approach and performance clearly to investors.\nExperience producing investor materials, including presentations, monthly reporting, and annual letters.\nWillingness to travel, domestically and internationally.\nHelpful but not required: experience marketing quantitative or systematic trading strategies.\nCandidate Qualities\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nStrong relationship builder with sound judgment and sensitivity to investor history and needs\nStrong bias for action\nDriven by accountability and internal urgency\nA nimble, partner-like approach to client relationships\nCollaborates well internally and builds strong relationships with the current team\nCarries and represents the best of Aquatic's culture in every investor interaction\nMotivated by an ambitious environment and driven colleagues\nSelf-directed and able to work independently, owning priorities and moving work forward with minimal oversight\nCompensation\nThe base salary for this role is anticipated to be between $150,000-$225,000, which is based on information at the time of posting. This position may also be eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as a discretionary bonus, and benefits. Discretionary bonus can be a significant portion of total compensation.
