{"id":2157130,"url":"https://alion.io/job/arabelle-solutions-engineer-controls-system","title":"Engineer – Controls System","company":{"id":2467342,"name":"Arabelle Solutions","domain":"arabellesolutions.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/arabellesolutions","size_band":"1001-5000","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Workday","truth_index":null},"role":"Industrial Engineering","role_family":"Industrial Engineering","seniority":"middle","employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Noida, India"],"countries":["IN"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":14000,"max_usd":29000,"period":"year","method":"role_seniority_country_remote_cell","sample_n":10},"experience_years_min":3,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-09-28T00:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-09-28","last_verified_at":"2026-10-13T22:04:42Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":16,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":16},"description":"The Control System - Software Engineer will be part of the Controls & Automation Engineering team and will contribute to the development, implementation, testing, and commissioning of control system software for power plants, rotating equipment, and industrial processes.The selected candidate will work alongside senior engineers to design and program control logic, develop HMI applications, perform system validation, and support commissioning activities at site.\nThis role requires strong analytical skills, a solid foundation in automation/control software development, and the ability to collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary and global engineering environments.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nDevelop and implement control logic for DCS/PLC/RTU-based systems.\nConfigure and program function blocks, sequential logic, interlocks, and protection schemes.\nSupport development of HMI/SCADA applications including graphics, trends, alarms, and operator functions.\nAssist in converting control philosophies, narratives, and logic diagrams into control software.\nPrepare and maintain software-related engineering documents such as:Control block diagrams\nSequence of operations\nI/O assignment lists\nSignal interfaces and mapping documents\nAlarm and event lists\n\nParticipate in system design reviews and provide inputs for P&IDs and cause-and-effect matrices.\nPerform offline and real-time simulation/testing of control logic.\nAssist in preparing and executing Software FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests).\nTroubleshoot logic, communication, or interface issues during testing cycles.\nValidate feedback, alarms, setpoints, and interlocks with instrumentation and process teams.\nSupport on-site commissioning activities, including:I/O checks and loop testing\nControl logic validation\nHMI testing\nSystem tuning and troubleshooting\n\nAssist in Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and support start-up teams during initial operation.\nCoordinate with instrumentation, electrical, and process engineering teams for system integration.\nCollaborate with global engineering teams and support multi-site project execution.\nIdentify opportunities for software improvement, standardization, and coding efficiency.\nQualifications/Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, or related discipline.\nMinimum 3+ years of experience in control system software development (DCS/PLC/SCADA).\nHands-on experience with at least one major control platform (e.g., Siemens, ABB, Schneider, Emerson, Allen-Bradley, GE, etc.).\nStrong understanding of industrial control systems, logic design, and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).\nGood knowledge of automation standards, control loops, and system interfaces.\nStrong communication skills in English (written and verbal).\nAbility to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams and support global engineering environments.\nWillingness to travel occasionally for FAT, commissioning, and site support.\nDesired Characteristics:\nExperience with rotating equipment, turbines, or process plant controls is an advantage.\nFamiliarity with safety instrumented systems (SIS) or safety logic (SIL) is a plus.\nStrong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.\nAbility to work independently with a proactive and responsible attitude.\nAdaptability to changing priorities and project needs.\nTeam-oriented and committed to transparent communication and collaboration.\nJoin us and work with global teams to support global customers !
