The role is primarily responsible for export packing, bespoke crate manufacture, shipment preparation, transport coordination and ensuring products are delivered safely, compliantly and on time. The position also provides support to Goods receiving & warehouse and stock control activities as required.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Packing, Crating & Dispatch Operations\nPrepare products, components and equipment for domestic and international shipment.\nDesign and manufacture bespoke wooden crates, cases and transport frames to protect products during transit.\nOperate woodworking equipment, including saws, cutting machinery and associated tools, in accordance with safety procedures.\nApply appropriate packing methods, protective materials and preservation techniques to prevent transport damage.\nEnsure all shipments are correctly labelled, packaged and prepared in accordance with customer and carrier requirements.\nLoad, secure and prepare goods for collection and transportation.\nSupport specialist packing requirements for high-value, sensitive or oversized equipment.\n2. Freight Forwarding & Transport Coordination\nLiaise daily with hauliers, freight forwarders, courier companies and internal stakeholders to coordinate shipments.\nArrange transport bookings and collection schedules to meet customer and business requirements.\nMonitor shipment progress and communicate updates where required.\nEnsure transport documentation is accurate and available prior to dispatch.\nAssist with export and shipping paperwork to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.\nSupport the resolution of transport, collection or delivery issues.\n3. Warehouse & Material Handling\nReceive, inspect and safely handle incoming and outgoing materials.\nLoad and unload vehicles using forklifts, cranes and material handling equipment.\nOrganise storage locations to maximise efficiency and accessibility.\nMaintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation using 5S principles.\nEnsure materials are stored and handled safely to prevent damage and maintain quality.\n4. Stock Control Support\nSupport stock management activities including goods receipt, goods issue and inventory transactions.\nAssist with stock counts and inventory verification activities.\nMaintain accurate material records and traceability where required.\nSupport material availability for production and project requirements.\n5. Continuous Improvement\nIdentify improvements to packing methods, transport arrangements and logistics processes.\nSupport lean activities aimed at reducing waste, improving efficiency and enhancing customer service.\nContribute ideas that improve safety, quality and operational performance.\n6. Health, Safety & Compliance\nPromote and maintain a Safety First culture at all times.\nOperate woodworking and material handling equipment safely and responsibly.\nFollow all health, safety and environmental procedures.\nAdhere to Arabelle Solutions' 10 Life Saving Principles.\nEnsure all lifting, packing, transportation and storage activities are completed safely and compliantly.\nKey Skills & Experience\nEssential\nExperience within a logistics, forwarding, packing, dispatch or warehouse environment.\nExperience preparing goods for shipment and transportation.\nExperience using woodworking tools, saws or packing equipment.\nForklift Truck Licence.\nGood understanding of safe lifting, packing and material handling practices.\nStrong communication skills with the ability to liaise with hauliers and external service providers.\nGood IT, literacy and numeracy skills.\nKnowledge of health and safety requirements within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.\nDesirable\nExperience manufacturing bespoke wooden crates and export packaging.\nKnowledge of export shipping documentation and international freight processes.\nSAP experience.\nOverhead Crane Licence.\nExperience within engineering, manufacturing or nuclear sectors.\nUnderstanding of ISPM 15 export packing requirements.\nExperience in the use of woodworking equipment, including saws, cutting machinery and associated tools, in accordance with safety procedures.\nRevised KPI's\nOn-time shipment and dispatch performance.\nPacking quality and damage-free delivery rate.\nTransport booking accuracy and efficiency.\nHealth & Safety compliance.\nCustomer delivery performance.\nContinuous improvement participation.\nWarehouse organisation and housekeeping standards.\nJoin us and work with global teams to support global customers !
