This is an exciting opportunity to shape how complex components are produced, improve processes, and collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.\nReporting to the Production Leader, you’ll be at the heart of operations - driving improvements, solving technical challenges, and helping bridge the gap between engineering and production.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and approve manufacturing methods, including SOPs, across all process steps\nSupport the Naval Project with writing MITPs and supporting on technical issues, both pre-shop and operational\nProvide technical direction for the revalidation and manufacture of Steam Turbine components.\nStrengthen coordination between shop floor and support functions (tendering, planning, procurement, engineering, etc.)\nInvestigate and implement advanced manufacturing technologies\nDrive process improvement through Lean initiatives and collaboration with PQE & CI teams\nLookahead for manufacturing development / improvements / Shop Layouts\nAssist with facilitating priority setting meetings and communicating actions to teams, particularly within the production engineering and planning team\nSupport cross skill training to reduce knowledge gaps - manage and update SQEP matrix for Rugby Service Centre \nEnsure compliance with Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety standards\nUndertake any other duty and responsibility as may be required by the Line Manager\nWhat We’re Looking For\nDegree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar) or equivalent practical experience\nExperience with PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow, MSA, and First Article Inspection\nStrong knowledge of the factory’s capabilities, resources planning, lead time and cost drivers.\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently within defined responsibilities\nCollaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams\nGood understanding of manufacturing processes and shop floor environments\nNice to Have\nExperience with Steam Turbine manufacturing\nKnowledge of Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies\nExperience supporting cross-functional projects or production environments\nFamiliarity with risk management and process optimisation techniques\nThis work is undertaken with UK Defence customers which will require any individual applying for the role to hold or be capable of getting SC Level clearance as a UK Passport Holder.
