Role Purpose\nThe SQE Turbo Generators is responsible for ensuring that suppliers providing materials, components and manufacturing services for large Turbo Generators meet applicable technical, quality and contractual requirements.\nThe role has end-to-end responsibility for Supplier Quality activities throughout the supplier lifecycle, including supplier assessment and qualification, qualification workflow management, quality planning, manufacturing surveillance, inspection and testing, non-conformance management, supplier performance and supplier development.\nThe SQE manages supplier qualification stages within the company's Supplier Quality software and maintains visibility of supplier qualification progress, manufacturing processes, risks and open issues.\nA key responsibility is maintaining a closed-loop quality feedback process between Supplier Quality, Suppliers, Engineering, Procurement, Factory/Manufacturing and Factory Quality, ensuring findings from Engineering/type tests and factory tests are translated into supplier corrective actions and sustainable process improvements.\n2. Key Responsibilities\n2.1 Supplier Assessment, Qualification and Approval\nPerform capability assessments and qualification audits for new and existing suppliers.\nAssess supplier manufacturing processes, process controls, infrastructure, technical capability, personnel competency, inspection/testing capability and Quality Management System.\nEvaluate supplier capability against applicable technical and quality requirements.\nSupport Engineering and Procurement during supplier evaluation and selection.\nIdentify capability gaps and establish qualification and risk-mitigation actions.\nDrive qualification findings and actions to effective closure.\nEnsure supplier approval reflects the qualified product, process, manufacturing location and scope.\nInitiate reassessment or requalification following significant changes, capability concerns or recurring quality issues.\n2.2 Supplier Qualification System Management\nManage assigned suppliers through the defined qualification stages within the company's Supplier Quality software.\nMaintain accurate supplier qualification records, assessments, actions, supporting evidence and approvals.\nTrack qualification progress and proactively follow up on overdue activities.\nCoordinate with suppliers, Engineering, Procurement and other relevant stakeholders to progress qualification activities.\nIdentify qualification bottlenecks and drive resolution.\nMaintain visibility of supplier capability, readiness, risks and outstanding requirements.\nManage supplier reassessment and requalification when required.\n2.3 Supplier Quality Planning\nReview applicable technical specifications, drawings, purchase requirements and quality requirements before manufacturing.\nParticipate in supplier kick-off and pre-manufacturing meetings.\nReview applicable Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), control plans, manufacturing procedures and inspection/testing procedures.\nEstablish appropriate Hold, Witness, Review and Monitoring points based on product/process criticality and supplier risk.\nEnsure requirements and acceptance criteria are understood by suppliers.\nIdentify manufacturing and quality risks and establish appropriate preventive controls.\n2.4 Supplier Manufacturing Quality Surveillance\nPlan and execute risk-based Supplier Quality surveillance covering applicable Turbo Generator components and materials, including:\nGenerator stator components\nGenerator rotor components\nElectrical steel and laminations\nCopper conductors and windings\nStator winding components and associated materials\nRotor winding components and associated materials\nInsulation materials and insulation systems\nCooling-system components\nExcitation-related components and equipment\nOther critical Turbo Generator electrical and electromechanical components within the assigned scope\nKey activities include:\nMonitor critical supplier manufacturing processes and milestones.\nVerify compliance with approved technical and quality requirements.\nMonitor implementation of manufacturing, process-control, inspection and testing requirements.\nIdentify manufacturing deviations and quality risks at an early stage.\nConduct supplier visits and manufacturing surveillance based on risk.\nTrack manufacturing progress, critical processes and open quality issues.\nDrive surveillance findings to effective closure.\nEscalate significant supplier manufacturing and quality risks.\n2.5 Inspection and Testing\nReview supplier inspection and test results against applicable specifications and acceptance criteria.\nPerform or coordinate source inspections at supplier facilities.\nVerify material certification, product identification, traceability, manufacturing records, inspection records and test results, as applicable.\nWitness required inspections and tests according to approved ITPs.\nCoordinate third-party inspection activities where required.\nSupport final inspection and quality release activities.\nEnsure outstanding quality issues are appropriately addressed before product release.\n2.6 Engineering Type-Test and Factory Test Feedback\nEstablish a structured feedback loop between Supplier Quality, Engineering, Factory/Manufacturing, Factory Quality and suppliers.\nParticipate in or obtain feedback from Engineering/type tests performed at supplier facilities, as applicable.\nObtain feedback from post-manufacturing, assembly and factory testing.\nReview test failures, deviations, abnormal results and manufacturing-related observations with Engineering and Factory teams.\nAssess whether findings are linked to supplier materials, manufacturing processes, workmanship or process controls.\nCommunicate relevant findings to suppliers and initiate investigations where required.\nDrive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier-related findings.\nTranslate findings into process, inspection, testing, ITP, control-plan, qualification or surveillance improvements.\nTrack actions through effective closure and verify effectiveness as appropriate.\nCapture lessons learned and apply them to future supplier qualification and manufacturing activities.\n2.7 Non-Conformance and Corrective Action Management\nManage supplier NCRs, deviations and associated corrective actions.\nEnsure effective containment and control of non-conforming products.\nCoordinate technical dispositions with Engineering where required.\nLead or support supplier root-cause investigations.\nApply structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5 Why and Fishbone analysis.\nChallenge inadequate root-cause analyses and corrective actions.\nDrive corrective actions to closure and verify effectiveness.\nIdentify recurring issues and drive systemic improvements.\n2.8 Supplier Progress, Performance and Development\nMaintain visibility of supplier qualification, manufacturing progress, critical processes, inspections, risks and open issues.\nTrack NCRs, corrective actions, Engineering/type-test findings, factory-test findings and supplier improvement actions.\nMonitor supplier quality performance and identify recurring issues or adverse trends.\nConduct Supplier Quality performance reviews.\nEstablish supplier improvement or recovery actions where required.\nConduct follow-up assessments or audits to verify improvement.\nEscalate significant or recurring Supplier Quality risks.\nDrive sustainable improvements in supplier capability and manufacturing processes.\n2.9 Quality Documentation and Traceability\nEnsure required supplier quality documentation is complete, accurate and traceable.\nReview applicable material certificates, inspection reports, manufacturing records, test reports, special-process records, NCRs and corrective-action documentation.\nEnsure Manufacturing Record Books / Quality Dossiers meet applicable requirements.\nDrive resolution of documentation deficiencies
