We are seeking an experienced and organised Catering Supervisor to join our team in Cork, Ireland. In this permanent position, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our catering department, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and customer service. You will lead and support a team of catering staff, manage resources efficiently, and maintain compliance with all health and safety regulations. The successful candidate will be professional, customer-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Supervise and manage catering staff, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure team effectiveness and professional development • Oversee food preparation, presentation, and service standards to maintain consistency and quality across all catering operations • Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations at all times
  • Plan and coordinate staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient resource allocation • Monitor inventory levels, manage stock rotation, and control food costs to maintain budgetary targets • Liaise with clients and guests to understand requirements, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction with catering services • Conduct regular quality checks and implement corrective actions to maintain operational excellence
  • Train and induct new team members on procedures, standards, and company policies • Maintain detailed records of food safety, staff performance, and operational metrics • Identify and resolve operational issues promptly, demonstrating problem-solving and decision-making capabilities • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement catering strategies and improvements

**Required Skills and Experience:**

  • Proven supervisory or team leadership experience within a catering or hospitality environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and health and safety regulations
  • Strong organisational and time-keeping abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to motivate and support a diverse team
  • Demonstrated customer service excellence and commitment to client satisfaction • Experience in budget management and cost control within a catering setting • Proficiency in catering operations, including food preparation, service, and event coordination • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal • Problem-solving abilities and sound judgement in challenging situations

**Desirable Skills and Experience:**

  • Experience with catering management systems and relevant software
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen management
  • Event coordination or large-scale catering experience
  • Mentoring and staff training experience
  • Experience in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives

**Certifications and Domain Expertise:**

  • Level 2 Food Safety in Catering certification (or equivalent)
  • Health and Safety awareness and compliance knowledge
