We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team in Bridgend, CF35 6AP. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a large-scale catering operation, supporting the delivery of meals in a secure environment while helping to maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer service.

What you'll be doing
- Working alongside a team of chefs and enhanced inmates to deliver meals
three times per day
- Supervising and assisting enhanced inmates within the kitchen operation
- Preparing basic quality food items in line with pre-planned menus
- Ensuring the kitchen remains clean, organised, and compliant with hygiene
standards
- Carrying out stock checks and ensuring stock is managed effectively
- Completing all relevant paperwork, records, and due diligence documentation
accurately
- Supporting food safety, health & safety, and operational compliance
procedures
- Managing challenging situations professionally and resolving conflict where
required
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Undertaking training and development activities as required
About you
- Previous supervisory experience
- Relevant culinary qualification
- Experience working in a large-scale kitchen environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Positive, proactive, and professional approach to work
- Ability to work within a secure environment and follow strict procedures
Important Requirements
- You must have resided in the UK continuously for the past 5 years and have the legal right to work in the UK
- The successful candidate will be required to pass full security vetting and DBS checks
