While this is a work-from-home role, some travel may be required.\nAbout the Role:\nAs a Frontend Engineer (d/m/w), you will be responsible for developing the UIs of the ArangoDB open-source database and Arango Data Platform. We believe in user-centric design and aim to deliver the best user experience possible to our users. Hence, we seek someone who can code while having our user base (Developers, DB Engineers, etc.) in mind.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nBuild new features for the Arango Data Platform UI, and contribute to the ArangoDB UI, used daily by developers, database engineers and AI/data teams.\nWork across a wide range of product areas, including graph visualization and data-exploration, query and developer tooling/UIs, AI-powered experiences such as agent and GraphRAG interfaces and dashboards.\nModernize our frontend by migrating legacy code to React and Typescript.\nPartner with designers to turn Figma designs and prototypes into polished, intuitive UIs, bringing your own UX judgment to the table.\nTake growing ownership of features over time, from shaping requirements to shipping and iterating on them.\nWork closely with backend and AI/ML engineers to integrate APIs, making sure the UI reflects what the platform can do.\nMust-Have Skills\n3+ years of relevant work experience: developing the frontend with a strong understanding of JavaScript, React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS. \nBasic understanding of BackboneJS, jQuery.\nGood UX comprehension and understanding. \nAbility to understand API based communication with a backend to ensure reliable frontend feature development. \nAbility to dig through complex code and provide reasonable solutions.\nUnderstanding of prototyping tools like Figma or Adobe Experience Design is a plus. \nGood communication and articulation skills to portray your ideas and thought processes. \nWillingness to take feature/product ownership and drive the development process. \n Nice-to-Have Skills\nUnit testing and E2E testing experience \nOpen source contribution \nDatabase knowledge - ArangoDB / SQL / NOSQL \nTailwind CSS / shadcn/ui \nAgentic workflow management like claude code or codex\n What Makes Arango Special?\nAt Arango, we believe that AI is only as powerful as the data foundation.
