This role suits someone who understands property cat risk, is comfortable with data-driven pricing, and wants to help shape how a growing property and casualty insurance business underwrites.\nWhat you'll be doing\nAssist with and lead insurance and reinsurance underwriting, including risk selection and aggregate management.\nFocus on growing our commercial book in admitted and surplus lines, including parametric • Develop market distribution channels and build strong relationships with wholesale and retail brokers to grow a quality book of business.\nReview, analyze, and price new and renewal submissions for property, catastrophe, and parametric weather risks within your authority.\nPartner with data science and risk modeling teams to use catastrophe models, weather data, and exposure analytics in pricing decisions.\nStructure parametric triggers, limits, and payout terms that fit each client's actual exposure.\nPrepare underwriting files, referrals, and pricing rationale for capacity partners and internal review.\nMonitor portfolio aggregation, accumulation, and loss performance, and flag concentrations or trends.\nMake sure all business is written within underwriting guidelines, authority limits, and regulatory requirements, including surplus lines rules.\nHelp refine underwriting guidelines, rating tools, and workflows as products and markets expand.\nMentor junior underwriters and analysts as the team grows.\nWhat you'll need\n4+ years of experience in commercial property underwriting, property brokerage, or a closely related role.\nSolid understanding of catastrophe exposure (wind, wildfire, flood, or similar) and how it drives pricing and capacity.\nExperience in the excess and surplus (E&S) lines market, working with wholesale brokers.\nComfort working with data, cat model output, and pricing tools;
