You will effectively act as the owner of the event, working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, operations, editorial and finance teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience and achieve the event's revenue and profitability targets.\nWith the Portfolio Director you will have accountability for the event P&L, using data, customer insight and knowledge to identify opportunities to grow revenue, attendance and profitability.\nThis is an ideal role for someone who enjoys having genuine ownership and wants to build and develop a major B2B event rather than simply manage individual elements of its delivery.\nKey Responsibilities\nCommercial & P&L\nWith the Portfolio Director own the event P&L, revenue targets, budgets and profitability.\nDevelop and execute the commercial strategy in partnership with the sales team.\nIdentify opportunities to grow exhibition, sponsorship, delegate and other revenue streams.\nWork closely with Sales to develop propositions, packages and new commercial opportunities.\nMonitor performance against budget and forecast regularly, taking corrective action where required.\nBuild strong relationships with exhibitors, sponsors, partners and other key customers.\nAudience & Marketing\nOwn the overall audience growth strategy and attendance targets.\nWork with Marketing to develop compelling campaigns that drive registrations, engagement and retention.\nUse audience data, research and market insight to identify new sectors, personas and acquisition opportunities.\nDevelop partnerships, communities and promotional opportunities that extend the reach of HR Tech Europe.\nEnsure the event proposition remains relevant, differentiated and compelling to senior HR decision-makers.\nEvent & Operational Delivery\nTake overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the event from planning through to post-event analysis.\nWork closely with Operations and external suppliers to ensure the event is delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget.\nOwn the critical path, event milestones, deadlines and risk management.\nLead the event team onsite and act as the senior point of escalation during the event.\nEnsure exhibitors, sponsors, speakers and attendees receive an outstanding experience.\nReview event performance and customer feedback and implement improvements for future editions.\nContent & Community\nWork with editorial/content teams to ensure the programme reflects the issues, trends and priorities shaping HR and technology.\nBuild relationships with senior HR leaders, industry influencers, technology companies and strategic partners.\nIdentify new formats, features and experiences that increase engagement and differentiate HR Tech Europe.\nMaintain a strong understanding of the HR technology market, competitors and emerging trends, particularly AI and the future of work.\nAbout You\nYou will be a commercially driven event professional who enjoys owning a product and making it better.\nYou will bring:\nProven experience managing a B2B event, conference, exhibition or similar commercial product.\nStrong commercial awareness and experience working with revenue targets, budgets and/or P&L.\nExperience working closely with sales and marketing teams to drive event growth.\nExcellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.\nA customer-first mindset and strong stakeholder management skills.\nConfidence working with senior executives, clients, partners and external suppliers.\nThe ability to analyse data and turn insight into commercial and audience-growth decisions.\nA proactive, entrepreneurial approach - you see opportunities rather than waiting to be told what to do.\nThe ability to work at both strategic and operational levels and to get into the detail when required.\nExperience in HR, HR technology, B2B technology or an adjacent sector would be advantageous, but is not essential.\nWhy Join Us?\nThis is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of a high-profile international B2B event and play a key role in its next phase of growth.\nYou will have the opportunity to shape the commercial strategy, audience proposition, content, customer experience and future directionof HR Tech Europe, working alongside an experienced team within a growing global events and media business.\nIf you're commercially ambitious, passionate about events and thrive on ownership, we'd love to hear from you.\nWe also offer a range of benefits including:\n25 days annual leave increasing to 27 after two years\nAn extra day off on your birthday\nMatched pension contributions up to 6%\nEmployee Life Assurance x4 basic annual salary\nEmployee assistance programme\nEmployee Discount site\nAll souls are welcome\nAs an equal opportunity employer we hire, develop and retain the best people regardless of their social background, age, sex, ethnicity, religion/belief or disability, and to make use of their talents.\nWe value everyone as an individual.
