As a key member of the team, you will apply and develop your engineering skills whilst producing excellent designs for our Rail clients.\nYou will be a key technical team member in the Rail Eastern design team, responsible for and involved in the delivery of project-related tasks to meet budget, time-frame and quality targets, meeting or exceeding client expectations.\nWe will provide professional and personal development which will allow you to progress your career towards chartered status. We will offer you the opportunity to be mentored by industry recognised Technical Organisers who will lend you their experience and ensure that the training you receive will give you the best possible chance of success.\nRole accountabilities:\nAs an Assistant Bridge Engineer you will provide design delivery on a variety of structural and civil engineering led multi-disciplinary projects mainly within the Rail environment, but also within the buildings sector. As we operate in a diverse marketplace, you will gain an experience of working on a wide and varied portfolio of projects which will enhance your skills and test your technical knowledge.\nCollaborate with other team members to deliver project requirements\nDevelop an understanding of the business benefits derived from the presence of Global Design and build working relationships with Global Design colleagues\nWork as a project resource, completing allocated activities to meet budget, timeframe and quality objectives and meeting or exceeding client expectations\nApply a methodical approach and design skills as well as technical writing skills at a project level\nDeliver work that meet client and Arcadis requirements\nOperate as a knowledgeable professional within a single area of work with little supervision\nCapable of reliantly performing routine and some non-routine tasks\nMake technical evaluations that are limited to solution rather than end results\nWork on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tasks.\nPrepare drawings, specifications, reports and other project documentation ensuring accuracy and compliance with Arcadis requirements and relevant national standards and codes of practice\nAn understanding of the design of unique elements of a project and how it ultimately interfaces with the client\nAssist investigations and analyses to support the development of technical solutions\nContribute to the resolution of technical issues on projects \nQualifications & Experience:\nDegree in Civil or Structural engineering\nRelevant experience preferably structural design and civil engineering in a rail environment\nAbility to work closely with design team and project team members at all levels\nExperience in the use of Autodesk or Bentley CAD software\nAble to build and maintain good working relationships with other internal engineering teams\nWorking toward Incorporated or Chartered Status of a relevant institution \nWhy Arcadis?\nWe can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
