With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.\nRole description:\nArcadis is seeking a Construction Inspector / Construction Manager with Water / Wastewater experience to join our Water Division team in Columbus, OH.\nThe initial project assignment will be leading the construction phase of a digester improvements project at the City of Coshocton Wastewater Treatment Plant in Coshocton, OH. The scope of work for this project consists of demo and replacement of existing digester equipment including tank covers, sludge heaters, gas piping and associated valves, and sludge transfer pump; installation of a new dewatering building; installation of a new rotary press and polymer system; associated electrical and instrumentation modifications; and additional site improvements. The construction schedule is approximately 2 years from Notice to Proceed to Substantial Completion. The Construction Inspector will be required to be onsite for a majority of the construction duration while also overseeing all construction management related tasks.\nThis is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our Construction Services team in Central Ohio with support from one of the leading municipal consulting firms in the country. The Construction Inspector / Construction Manager, with the support of a strong nationally recognized technical staff, will utilize their experience and technical knowledge of water/wastewater construction, construction inspection, construction field management, QA / QC, and report documentation. This position will also serve as the focal point of all communication and coordination between the General Contractor, the Owner, and the Engineer.\nRole accountabilities:\nThis role monitors performance of contractors, overall site safety, subcontractors, and suppliers. Relays any issues related to these to clients, including any changes or deviations from plan, on a regular basis. It also observes and inspects wastewater pump station construction work performed by contractors, performs punch list inspections, reviews drawings and specifications and other technical documents, prepares detailed daily activity and progress reports and participates in project schedule and contractor invoice reviews. Additional duties include:\nMaintains quality assurance requirements and monitors code compliance issues.\nInspects and determines deviations from general compliance with Contract Documents; clearly and professionally informs the contractor of required corrections.\nRegularly attends and participates in construction meetings, safety meetings/updates and project site coordination meetings.\nMonitors and documents contractor resource utilization (labor, materials, and equipment) for field changes, and time and material work and assists with negotiation of basic field construction changes.\nUtilizes knowledge of cost trends, change management, claims, and other construction-related matters to ensure success of project delivery while maintaining Arcadis’ standards and specifications.\nUses both their oral and written communication skills to effectively lead and conduct progress, project, safety, scheduling and other contract administration meetings with client, contractor, local agencies, and the community.\nRecommends improvements to save project costs and/or shorten project schedules.\nReviews and processes contractor submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders.\nOther responsibilities will include acting as liaison to design staff to obtain field information to answer design questions through contractor RFIs.\nRequired Qualifications:\nMinimum of 5 years as a Resident Engineer or Construction Manager with 2+ years of water / wastewater facilities experience or similar experience.\nAssociate's degree in engineering, construction management, or a closely related field of study.\nKey Skills and Abilities:\n10 or 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety Training. Experience with the MS Office Suite (particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams). Experience with scheduling software such as Primavera P6 Professional Project Management and/or Microsoft Project. Experience managing construction budgets and schedules, cost estimating, and change order negotiation. Experience with various construction document management software.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelors degree in engineering, construction management, or a closely related field of study.\nClient experience and knowledge in the greater Columbus area.\nActive participation in a regional or national professional association.\nConstruction-related credentials, such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM).\nPE or FE with intent to earn PE.\nInspection certifications, such as for AWS/CWI, ICC, ACI, and/or NACE\nConfined Space Entry Training\nWhy Arcadis?\nWe can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
