This role will be reporting to the Employee Relations and Compliance Manager.\nRole accountabilities:\nAs a member of the Local People Service team, the Employee Relations Advisor will establish trusted relationships with employees & line managers and provide front line advisory support on people initiatives, programs, or challenges. They will also collaborate with business partner community and broader people services teams to support the total employee experience within Arcadis North America (ANA). The role will work closely with the local Employee Relations & Compliance Manager to support an inclusive high performing organization, in line with the strategic people and culture direction.\nIn more detail, the Employee Relations Advisor will:\nAct as a key point of contact for employees & line managers on people issues\nProvide support to line managers and the People Business Partner community on people matters including (including disciplinary, grievance, performance management & employee relations investigation)\nWork with Centers of Excellence including Learning and Development, Recruitment, Strategic Workforce Planning, International HR, People Shared Services, Compensation and Benefits and Payroll to provide a wide range of People Services to stakeholders\nWork closely with the People Shared Service Centre to ensure delivery of efficient and high quality people services\nCoach, support and build capability in line managers to manage the employment relationship effectively\nSupport the development and maintenance of People Policies and processes\nCoach, counsel, and guide managers with regards to People policy queries\nProvide support in grievance and disciplinary hearings\nPro-actively monitor absence & leave and support employees and managers to facilitate return to work\nAnalyze exit interviews and employee surveys and ensure feedback is provided to the business (where appropriate) with recommendations for associated interventions to improve retention.Pro-actively monitor laws, regulations and guidelines regarding labor law and provide guidance to the business on implementation\n\nSupport change initiatives, including acquisitions, restructures, redundancies, redeployment, and office closures\nProvision and analysis of management information to the business to inform decision making\nShare knowledge and best practice with the wider People Services team to build capability\nSupport key people processes ensuring that they deliver to business needs\nQualifications & Experience:\nThe candidate should have an academic degree (preferably in human resources) and a minimum of 4 years of progressive (human resources) experience. They should have broad experience and understand the complexity of leading people issues.\nFurther the candidate should have experiences with diverse and complex matrix businesses in and familiarity working within a People Shared Services & Centers of Excellence model\nStrong employee relations experience gained in high volume, transactional environments with disciplinary, grievance and sickness absence management cases\nExcellent communication skills and ability to build solid working relationships\nExcellent attention to detail\nExperience of managing / supporting HR projects\nCapacity to understand how people issues impact the business and how People Services can create value for the organization\nDemonstrates integrity in all business interactions and honors personal commitments\nAbility to provide both verbal and written information clearly, succinctly, and persuasively, as well as ability to influence others\nStrong organization skills are important, as well as strong attention to detail, an ability to multi task and see work through to full implementation\nAbility to build key relationships and reach agreements and consensus despite differing goals and priorities\nDemonstrates a pro-active approach\nAbility to adapt in a changing environment\nAbility to use research methods effectively, including data collection, diagnostic, and analytical skills\nGood working knowledge of employment laws and practices\nExperience in people data systems and processes\nAdvanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook\nWhy Arcadis?\nWe can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position.
