This is an entry-level opportunity for a motivated individual looking for career growth in the environmental consulting field.\nAs part of our Resilience Environment team, you’ll help improve quality of life.\nThis role is slated to start in Summer 2027. Arcadis provides multiple onboarding and development programs created for our young professionals that will expand professional growth and help drive creativeness, innovation, and greater integration within our local, national, and global teams.\nOffice responsibilities may include the following:\nConducting project related research (reviewing historical data, applicable regulations, etc.)\nEngineering design for remediation systems, including soil, groundwater, and soil vapor intrusion remedial system and in-situ technology treatment design and assessments\nOperation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of remedial systems\nSite characterization, including data compilation and evaluation\nAssisting with writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and other forms of written correspondence\nAdditional responsibilities include evaluating remedial technologies and supporting the preparation of feasibility studies, developing remedial cost estimates, preparing design specifications, drawings, and construction documents, and assisting with environmental permitting activities.\nField activities may include the following:\nOversight of contractors (e.g., excavation, construction)\nOversight, implementation, operation, maintenance and monitoring of field pilot tests and remedial systems for various remediation technologies\nConducting field tests (hydraulic, air flow/vacuum, geotechnical, etc.)\nSoil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and air sampling in compliance with State and Federal standards\nThis is a full-time entry-level position that requires attention to detail, strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and willingness to perform field work. This position is expected to support various projects from environmental investigation through design, permitting and remediation. The successful candidate will be working alongside and supporting task managers, technical experts, and project managers on multiple projects. Responsibilities will include a combination of field and office related tasks and will include travel and field work.\nDuring some periods, field work is expected to be as much as 50 to 75 percent of the candidate’s time with some travel requiring hotel stays. Field work may be performed at project sites with environmental media (e.g., soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, etc.) that has been impacted with hazardous substances and/or hazardous wastes.\nIn summary, the ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and will be detail oriented, well organized, dependable, and able to work independently and in groups.
