(Arcadis) is seeking a Junior Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join our Resilience team in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).\nThis role sits within the Global Resilience Business Area and supports local environmental and remediation projects. The successful candidate will coordinate and execute tasks assigned by Project Managers related to the delivery of environmental projects, with a primary focus on the conducting fieldwork for ongoing environmental projects, as well as supporting the monitoring and operation of remediation and treatment systems.\nArcadis is looking for a dynamic individual looking for career growth in consulting. Candidates must work well independently and support a strong health and safety workplace. This full-time position requires attention to detail, strong work ethic, and excellent analytical skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing environmental and geotechnical site investigations and oversight of construction and remediation activities including: the collection of field data, soil and groundwater sampling; preparation of field logs and reports; analysis and interpretation of environmental and geotechnical data, oversight of contractors, and the compilation of environmental and geotechnical reports.\nApproximately 70% travel to project sites within Ontario may be required, with opportunities for travel across Canada as needed to support project delivery.\nRole accountabilities:\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nUnderstanding of field protocols including soil, groundwater, and vapour sampling. and overseeing drilling activities and subcontractor management. \nMaintain knowledge and familiarity with provincial and federal regulatory frameworks (i.e., O.Reg.153).\nDiligent interpretation of environmental data, including maintaining excellent field notes, safety forms, daily field reports, and laboratory forms.\nComparison of sample results to applicable guidelines and standards.\nStrong adherence to health and safety standards and policies.\nPreparation of reports documenting the results of inspection and/or investigation programs.\nA valid driver’s license and reliable access to a personal vehicle are required. Candidates that are mechanically inclined is an asset, strong attention to detail and accuracy, and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.\nQualifications & Experience:\nTechnical Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science, engineering, earth sciences, or related field. \n2+years related experience.\nEligible to become a P.Geo. or P.Eng. in Ontario an asset.\nWhy Arcadis?\nWe can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
