The Program Manager will be responsible for managing approximately three to five concurrent building capital projects as part of a larger client program. Projects may include new construction, renovation, modernization, and facility improvements across public safety, healthcare, education, corrections, municipal, and private development markets.\nWorking under the direction of a senior Program Lead, the Program Manager will oversee assigned projects through planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout. The successful candidate will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage project performance, and provide consistent reporting across their assigned portfolio.\nThis position is intended for an experienced building Project Manager who is ready to take on multiple projects and continue developing toward a future program leadership role.\nPosition Responsibilities\nManage approximately three to five concurrent building projects through all phases of delivery.\nServe as the primary day-to-day client contact for assigned projects.\nLead and coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, vendors, and client stakeholders.\nDevelop and monitor project budgets, forecasts, contingencies, and schedules.\nManage project risks, changes, procurement, contracts, and document controls.\nReview design documents for completeness, constructability, coordination, and alignment with client requirements.\nCoordinate design reviews, value engineering, cost estimating, permitting, and procurement activities.\nReview contractor payment applications, change orders, proposals, and schedule updates.\nMonitor construction progress, quality, safety, and impacts to ongoing facility operations.\nCoordinate commissioning, turnover, and project closeout.\nProvide consolidated cost, schedule, risk, and progress reporting to the Program Lead and client.\nIdentify and escalate significant project issues while developing recommended solutions.\nCoordinate assigned projects with the broader capital program and other project managers.\nProvide day-to-day direction and mentoring to assistant project managers and project engineers.\nSupport client development, proposals, interviews, and growth of the Chicago Buildings practice.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field.\nMinimum 8 years of progressively responsible building project management, construction management, design management, or owner’s representative experience.\nDemonstrated experience managing building projects through planning, design, procurement, construction, and closeout.\nExperience managing multiple concurrent projects and multidisciplinary project teams.\nExperience with new construction, renovation, modernization, or work within occupied facilities.\nWorking knowledge of project budgets, schedules, procurement, contracts, change management, risk management, and project controls.\nStrong client communication, organization, and team leadership skills.\nExperience with web-based project management or document-control systems.\nAbility to travel to project sites throughout the Chicago metropolitan area.\nPreferred Qualifications\nLicensed Professional Engineer (PE), preferably in Illinois, or ability to obtain Illinois licensure.\n8 to 12 years of relevant building project or construction management experience.\nExperience managing a portfolio of three or more concurrent building capital projects.\nExperience with public-sector, institutional, healthcare, educational, public safety, or municipal building programs.\nExperience serving as an owner’s representative or program/construction management consultant.\nChicago-area building, permitting, contractor, and construction market experience.\nExperience managing construction in occupied or operational facilities.\nProject Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or Registered Architect (RA) credential.\nWhy Arcadis?\nWe can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
