With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.\nRole description:\nArcadis is seeking a Resident Engineer, with 5-10 years of experience, to join our construction management team to support our NYC Parks program for a Tidal Wetlands reconstruction project in Rockaway, Brooklyn.\nThis is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our team locally with support from one of the best-qualified municipal consulting firms in the country. As a Resident Engineer, you will utilize your experience and technical knowledge of municipal infrastructure, site development and general civil/structural knowledge for a new multiuse park facility to successfully oversee and manage a General Contractors progress, under the supervision of the Project Executive or Project Manager, and help us build and grow our practice.\nRole accountabilities:\nPosition responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:\nYou will manage the firm’s day-to-day construction oversight and Resident Engineering efforts on major municipal new building and infrastructure projects. Part of this responsbility will involve preparing daily inspector reports in accordance with clients’ requirements and acting as a liaison to design staff to respond to Contractors’ RFI's and review of shop drawings. A successful individual in this role must be comfortable communicating and working with contractors as you will need monitor their performance, schedule, overall responsiveness and effectiveness to ensure project goals regarding cost, schedule and quality of work stay on track. Additional responsbilities include but are not limited to:\nProvides technical review of construction plans and specifications and project changes for constructability and practicality.\nResponsible for overall site safety, MPT, permit condition compliance and coordination with other participant Agencies.\nPerform site inspections and complete all reports and paperwork required to conform to the requirements of NYS DEC SWPPP and MS4 approvals.\nManages the Contractor payment process and recommends appropriate adjustments as necessary to manage the Contractor.\nUses effective oral and written communication skills to effectively lead progress, project, safety, scheduling and other contract administration meetings with client, local agencies and the community.\nResponsible for supervising ARCADIS staff, including development of Professional Development plans, tracking career progress, mentoring, advocating for and approving timesheets and training/development requests.\nQualifications & Experience:\nRequired Qualifications:\nPrior experience as a Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer in NYC Metro area. Previous NYC Parks experience would be a plus.\nNYS DEC 4-hour Erosion and Sediment Control Training Certificate.\nProcore (CMIS System), Primavera and/or MS Project and the MS Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint).\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrior experience completing tidal wetlands rehabilitation work.\nProfessional Engineer - New York preferred- Not absolutely required\nContinue your career journey as an Arcadian.\nWe can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
