We have an excellent reputation in the delivery of such schemes and are working closely with some of the UK’s most established and recognizable companies, undertaking a vast array of projects to enhance the UK’s water infrastructure and environment.\nAs a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will join our MEICA team to contribute and apply your skills on a variety of water and wastewater projects for our clients regionally and across the UK.\nYou will be responsible for leading and supporting the mechanical design delivery of projects that promise to meet or exceed client expectations. You will represent Arcadis with direct client and stakeholder engagement, contributing towards the achievement of our business objectives and building networks within the industry.\nRole accountabilities:\nAbility to self-start and work both independently and as a team member carrying out production, checking, review or approval of mechanical design deliverables.\nSupporting and / or Leading design and advisory services relating to new and existing water and wastewater conveyance and treatment assets.\nEnsuring safety of yourself and others through design leadership and actions.\nTechnical delivery within a multi-disciplinary team environment, in a mechanical design Lead capacity where assigned, using latest digital design processes and resources.\nCo-ordinate work with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and ICA) \nIdentify and develop innovative and optimised technical solutions based on client needs and drivers\nEstablish and grow relationships with clients and capital alliance partners on project technical, commercial and progress matters\nLeading and supervising the design team andensure the project is delivered with high quality withinthe program and budget\nLiaising with the lead region to demonstrate an understanding of scope, knowledge, and experience to provide innovative design solutions as per best engineering practices.\nWorking in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design\nEnsuring projects meet required technical, legislative, quality, safety and environmental standards and objectives.\nCapturing key project and technical knowledge, including innovations.\nPromote MEICA team capability and achievements both internally and externally.\nCoaching & Mentoring of junior staff\nCompliance to the Arcadis Health and Safety standards\nInternally promote and share project achievements and developments\nQualifications & Experience:\nDegree in Mechanical Engineering or other directly related degree\n10+ years’ experience in designing mechanical and process equipment for water supply & water treatment plants, sewerage & sewage treatment plants and drainage system.\nIncorporated or Chartered Engineer status (or approaching) and membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g., IMechE, IET, CIWEM) \nExperience of working on design and construct projects using digital design platforms\nStrong command of BIM / digital/data analytics software as applicable.\nApplication of quality management systems and managing project teams \nKnowledge of relevant British Standards is preferable.\nDemonstrated delivery acumen. \nExperience in mechanical design, specifications, drawings and BIM models for large scale projects related to,Water and Wastewater Treatment plants,\nPumping stations and other related structures, \nWater and wastewater conveyance systems,\nDrainage systems,\nFlood protection facilities,\nHydraulic design related to above including hydraulic calculations\nSurge analysis and pipeline surge mitigation preferable\n\nExperience of delivering designs and reports at all stages from concept through to final project and construction delivery.\nExcellent oral/visual/written communication skills in English language and experience in working with remote clients and multi-disciplinary teams\nWhy Arcadis?\nWe can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
