People and communities thrive when the spaces in which they live, work, move and play are designed and managed in a way that best meets their needs.\nRole accountabilities:\nTechnical Responsibilities:\nApply technical engineering techniques and methods using international design standards such as us, Canada, UK, EU and other international and local Structural Design Codes.\nAble to actively participate in safe design processes which consider safety during construction, operation and decommissioning through the use of hazard identification and risk assessment during design development.\nPrepare drawing markups and other design related documents.\nOversee the project's detailed design and calculation.\nSupervise the design and drawing markup processes.\nEnsure design resources are working effectively and efficiently.\nConduct internal review and quality checks of engineering drawings and design calculations to ensure compliance with the project's requirements and correctness of project deliverables.\nLiaise with other disciplines within the Project Team for coordination and ensure all requirements are understood.\nPrepare and register all relevant documentation and design reports and ensure all documentation is accurate and in compliance with the Arcadis requirements.\nLiaise with the Function Leaders and Design Manager to keep informed of all developments or changes associated with the project.\nDeliver technically complete design documentation, summary reports and technical reports for Design Managers.\nCommercial Responsibilities:\nRecord man-hour charges accurately into weekly timesheets and ensure correctness of project and non-project man-hour charges. \nTo be fully utilized. Always seek new work/tasks from Principal Engineer/Function Leader.\nEnsure that the engineers supporting him/her are fully utilized.\nIdentify risks and potential deviations to the project's required scope of work.\nEnsure compliance with scope of works, time schedule and cost control.\nPeople Management Responsibilities\nResource and develop skills and knowledge base of Design, Assistant and Graduate Engineers assigned to projects.\nFamiliarize the Training and Development Scheme and render mentoring duties to all Design, Assistant, and Graduate Engineers.\nLead a team on a project.\nConduct training and guidance to team members.\nLiaise with BIM Manager and BIM Coordinators assigned to projects.\nWork to ensure maximum performance and proactively work with the team members in Arcadis GECs, other Arcadis regions and Arcadis clients.\nWork collaboratively with other design disciplines to ensure the integration of the overall design or solution. \nWork effectively with team members in Arcadis GECs and other Arcadis offices per agreed project working arrangements.\nPlan assigned work and allocate work to ensure timely delivery and effective utilisation of resources.\nMonitor the performance of junior team members identifying and ensuring resolution of any issues.\nSelf time-management.\nQualifications & Experience:\nGraduate of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. A master’s degree is an advantage.\nLicensed Registered Civil Engineer.\n8 to 10 years minimum relevant post-graduate experience.\nExperience on large scale infrastructure metro projects (above and below ground station design) or industrial steelwork projects is an advantage.\nWorking towards Charterships with International Institutes in regions such as the UK, US, Canada or Australia is an advantage.\nExcellent English written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to provide solutions to technical problems.\nExcellent mathematical skills applied in engineering calculations.\nAbility to lead, with good influencing, motivating and delegating skills.\nOrganizational skills and proactive approach in project management.\nHighly proficient in the application of international design standards such as: US, Canada, UK&I, European and Australian.\nHighly proficient in structural engineering design fundamentals\nKnowledgeable in AUTOCAD, REVIT, Navisworks and BIM environment.\nHighly proficient in using engineering software like: SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, RISA, Robot, Tekla Structures, or SCIA.\nAbility to contribute to the team’s digital initiative and automation of processes.\nExcellent organisational skills and has a proactive approach to task management.\nProgramming knowledge using C++, Python, Dynamo is an advantage.\nActively continue to develop personally and technical knowledge and new emerging technology through regular CPD training.\nWhy Arcadis?\nWe can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
