This position will be 100% in the field at a client site providing operations for maintenance, and monitoring (OMM) activities for a groundwater extraction & treatment system. This position requires a hard-working, safe, efficient and dedicated employee that is excited to receive on the job training, working with a team, and able to work independently once trained.\nThe Wastewater Treatment System Operator sits within the larger global Resilience Business Area. The rate at which we’re seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. We are here to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations.\nRole accountabilities:\nPerform inspections and document routine checks for facility permit compliance.\nCarry out mechanical, electrical and controls troubleshooting on equipment such as valves, air compressors, process pumps, chemical feed pumps and instrumentation.\nCollect data from gauges, meters and displays onto digital forms.\nOperate, monitor, and optimize equipment performance.\nConduct maintenance and calibration activities.\nField implementation and troubleshooting of instrumentation and controls systems. \nWorking with hand/power tools to change out pipes, pumps, fittings, flanges, valves, filters, and gauges.\nSampling and field screening associated with treatment system (influent/effluent) and other types of compliance discharge sampling.\nOversight and coordination of electrical and mechanical subcontractors for various field projects and repairs. \nThe candidate demonstrates the ability to document site activities and notes while providing effective communication to the project team. They are skilled at reading and understanding OMM manuals and system drawings and can work independently while problem-solving with guidance from subject matter experts. Additionally, they are capable of working 100% in the field and are flexible in accommodating occasional overtime, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and emergency call-outs. Furthermore, they possess the physical capability to perform activities that include lifting and carrying weights of up to 50 pounds.\nQualifications & Experience:\nRequired Qualifications:\n3+ years’ relevant experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical controls for treatment systems preferred\nHigh School Degree \nValid Driver’s License with a clear driving record\nHave TWIC card or the ability to obtain \nProficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (e.g., Word, Excel)\nPreferred Qualifications:\nIndiana OR Illinois Wastewater Certification (Any Class)\n40 Hour HAZWOPER certification\nARC Flash NFPA 70E Training \nWhy Arcadis?\nWe can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
