About Arcanum Labs
Arcanum Labs works on the data and infrastructure problems that sit behind frontier model training and deployed AI agents. We partner directly with labs on post-training research & infrastructure, and we deploy models and agents for large enterprises and government customers.
We're under four months into operation and already profitable: over seven figures in realized revenue to date, with more contracted. We haven't taken on a priced round yet but have early capital from a small group of institutional and angel investors including senior researchers from Anthropic & OpenAI. We're a team of ten including engineers and early employees from Glean, Palantir, MSL, Mercor, Nvidia, and other top startups, and we're hiring rapidly.
About the Role
As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Arcanum, you sit inside a customer's team and own the job of making their agent and models better. You're not shipping a generic product - you're embedded with a specific customer, working off their real usage, and responsible for that relationship's outcomes end to end.
In this role, you will:
Turn live usage into training data. An agent running all day produces the best training data a team will ever have, and nearly all of it gets thrown away. Build the pipeline that pulls signal out of the logs - which answers people kept, which they overrode, what they came back and fixed later - and turns it into training data with no human labeling step in the middle.
Test a model that's already live. A fixed test set stops meaning much a few weeks after you start optimizing against it. Build scoring cheap enough to run on real customer traffic, tuned to what this specific customer calls good rather than generic correctness, and sensitive enough to catch one broken workflow before the overall numbers move.
Trace what data caused what. Today, teams make data, watch scores change, and guess at the reason. Build a way to point at a model behavior and say which data caused it.
