You’ll thrive here if you adapt quickly, take ownership, and care about the details. \nYou will join our People team as a summer intern from June 14th-August 20th 2027. You will work from our headquarters in Torrance, CA. Given that we’re a startup, you will be working in a fast-moving, dynamic environment that requires adaptability. That said, here are some responsibilities and qualifications we expect to stay relatively constant for this role.\nWhat You'll Do\nSupporting day-to-day operations of the People team and contributing to broader People programs\nCoordinating and executing process improvement efforts to streamline workflows, such as organizing shared files and team resources so information is accurate and easy to find\nDeveloping training content and managing course assignments and completion tracking in EasyLlama\nAuditing employee records and internal systems for missing, outdated, or inconsistent data, and correcting issues so our records stay clean and reliable\nSupporting payroll by tracking employee changes, auditing timecards for wage and hour compliance, and coordinating timely manager approvals\nPreparing compliance paperwork for review, including state disability and family leave forms, wage garnishment orders, and employment verifications, and tracking deadlines through resolution\nExecuting planning and logistics for the company retreat, from vendor coordination and travel to agenda and attendee communications\nHelping run company engagement efforts, such as scheduling and organizing new-hire lunches with our co-founders and maintaining our employee recognition program\nPitching in wherever needed - this is a startup, after all\nMinimum Qualifications\nClear communicator - both written and verbal\nA systems mindset: you naturally look at ways to simplify, automate and improve processes\nHands-on experience using AI tools\nHighly organized and detail-oriented\nProactive problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced environments\nProficiency with G Suite and quick to learn new tools\nAbility to handle sensitive information with discretion and care\nA genuine interest in People Operations and how organizations work\nEagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic setting.\nBonus Qualifications\nA bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, Sociology or a related field, with the ability to start a full time role in September 2027.\nExperience with HR systems - we use Rippling, Greenhouse and CultureAmp\nExposure to startups or small team environments\nEnthusiasm for boating and clean energy.\nAt Arc, we encourage diversity and consider all qualified applicants equally for employment, regardless of background, identity, or status.
