We seek a dynamic and results-oriented business developer to join our team in the Baltic countries and serve as a connecting link between customers and our mill, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine. Poland is the preferred location for this position.

You will be responsible for managing customers in the Baltic countries, acquiring new customers, negotiating prices, conducting market investigations, improving the supply share per customer, and supporting product development. Additionally, you will play a vital role in developing high-added-value (HAV) products and ensuring seamless communication between our customers and the mill.

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih is Ukraine's largest integrated steel producer, located in Kryvyi Rih, central Ukraine. Established in 1934, it operates as a full-cycle steel plant, encompassing iron ore mining, coke production, and steel manufacturing. Its production facilities are designed to produce over 6 million tons of steel, 5 million tons of rolled products, and 5.5 million tons of pig iron annually. The company employs over 20 thousand people.

Specializing in long steel products such as rebar, wire rod, and square billets as well as sinter, concentrate, coke, pig iron, steel, and various rolled products, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih serves both domestic and international markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing account customers: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring their needs are met and maximizing customer satisfaction.
  • Customer acquisition: Identify and target potential customers to expand the customer base and increase sales opportunities.
  • Price negotiation: Engage in negotiations with customers to establish favourable pricing agreements while maintaining profitability for the company.
  • Market investigation: Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, customer demands, and competitors' activities, providing valuable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Improve supply share per customer: Collaborate with internal teams to optimize supply chain operations and increase the company's market share within each customer account.
  • Develop HAV products: Work closely with the product development team to identify opportunities for high-added-value products and contribute to their development.
  • Support on product development: Provide input and feedback on product development initiatives, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market requirements.

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in economics, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Alternatively, long-term experience in the steel industry will be considered.
  • Willingness to travel: Ability to travel, approximately 30-50% of the time.
  • Industry Knowledge: Possess a good understanding of the product portfolio, market dynamics, competitors, customers, applications, production processes, and supply chain within the steel industry. Familiarity with supply chain operations, competitor activities, and the automotive sector will be appreciated.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are a must. Knowledge of regional language(s) would be an advantage.
  • Multicultural Environment: Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multinational environment, collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Personal Traits: Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and assume high levels of responsibility. Strong team player with a hands-on mentality and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Adaptability: Flexible, creative, and open-minded, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in using IT tools such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft PPT, Business Intelligence (BI) software, SAP, and other relevant software systems.
  • Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license for business travel purposes.
