This role analyzes raw materials, process samples, finished products, byproducts, and environmental samples to provide accurate data used for process control, quality assurance, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Laboratory Technician operates and maintains laboratory equipment, interprets test results, troubleshoots analytical issues, and collaborates with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Environmental, and Quality teams to support plant performance.\nTasks & Responsibilities:\nKnows, understands, and complies with all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality policies, procedures, and requirements.\nPerforms chemical, physical, and environmental analyses on incoming materials, process samples, finished products, and byproducts using established laboratory methods and procedures.\nConducts laboratory testing to provide accurate and timely data supporting plant operations, process optimization, and product quality.\nCollects, prepares, labels, and analyzes samples in accordance with laboratory procedures and quality standards.\nOperates, calibrates, troubleshoots, maintains, and assists in the repair of laboratory equipment and analytical instruments, including XRF, XRD, UV-VIS, AAS, GC, and other testing systems.\nMonitors instrument performance and performs routine maintenance to ensure reliable operation and accurate analytical results.\nReviews, interprets, validates, and documents test results while maintaining compliance with laboratory procedures and recordkeeping requirements.\nUtilizes laboratory information systems, computer applications, and data management tools to maintain testing records, analyze trends, and prepare reports.\nPerforms mathematical calculations and statistical evaluations to support laboratory analyses and process monitoring.\nSupports method development, validation, improvement, and standardization activities as required.\nConducts environmental sampling and testing to support regulatory compliance and permit requirements.\nAssists in investigating abnormal process conditions, nonconforming results, and product quality concerns.\nCollaborates with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Environmental, and Quality personnel to identify and resolve technical issues.\nMaintains laboratory cleanliness, housekeeping, inventory, and organization in accordance with company standards.\nSupports internal and external audits by maintaining accurate records and demonstrating compliance with laboratory and quality management procedures.\nParticipates in continuous improvement initiatives focused on laboratory performance, safety, product quality, process reliability, and environmental compliance.\nMaintains strict adherence to laboratory safety practices, safe work procedures, and hazard control requirements.\nPerforms other duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nQualifications:\nAssociate's Degree in Chemical Technology, Applied Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related technical field required.
