About the role

We are looking for Senior Legal Counsel to join our legal team, supporting the company's operations in Poland and Central Europe. In this role, you will act as a legal business partner for ArcelorMittal's operations ino the region, with a primary focus on Poland.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, business-oriented lawyer who values a broad scope of responsibility, independent work in a complex industrial environment and exposure to international projects.

In this role, you will act as a legal business partner supprting primarily the Polish operations, advising management and key business stakeholders. You will also independently manage legal matters end-to-end within the organization’s Polish operations.

What will you be responsible for?

• acting as a legal business partner, providing proactive, reliable, pragmatic and business-oriented legal support while identifying, minimising and mitigating legal risks;
• supporting management and key business stakeholders by translating complex legal matters into practical and actionable business recommendations;
• preparing, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial, corporate and project-related agreements;
• providing legal advice across a broad range of commercial and corporate matters, including in particular:
  • procurement, including CAPEX contracts;
  • supply chain and long-term industrial agreements;
  • corporate law and M&A projects;
  • energy law, including renewable energy;
  • infrastructure and environmental law;
  • employment and health & safety law;
• cooperating with external law firms in relation to ongoing projects and legal matters;
• actively participating in international legal initiatives across the Group, including the regular exchange of best practices, experience, emerging challenges and legal developments, as well as projects focused on innovation and efficiency;
• delivering legal training to business teams on a variety of legal topics;
• working closely with the General Counsel and supporting the coordination of external legal counsel on more complex matters.

We are looking for you if you have:

• Fully qualified Legal Counsel (Radca Prawny);
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience, gained in-house or in a law firm, including several years of experience working closely with business, preferably in the industrial, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure or another highly regulated sector. Experience may have been gained either in an in-house legal department or in a law firm providing ongoing legal support to business clients;
• practical knowledge and experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, as well as managing projects involving multiple stakeholders;
• practical knowledge of contract, commercial and corporate law;
• fluent Polish and English, at a business level;
• a practical, proactive, energetic and highly engaged approach to work;
• strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex legal issues in a practical manner;
• excellent communication skills and the ability to operate effectively in an international environment.
