Other duties may be assigned.\nOperate Machines:\nLoads starting material into machine and unloads machined part from machine\nDeburrs Parts as necessary for Inspection and Safety\nPerforms Daily Housekeeping around machine and Daily Maintenance checks\nAdjusts tool offsets and other machine offsets such as fixture offsets, cutter comp, etc.\nSet-Up Jobs:\nFor non-complex machining operations, installs and aligns holding fixtures and accessories on machines per green folder instructions.\nAligns and secures cutting tools into tool holders and then installs tool assemblies on machines per tool sheet.\nRetrieves CNC program, ensures revision is correct, and downloads to machine.\nEstablishes the machining offsets (G54, etc.).\nStarts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts set-up as required to make part within specification.\nDocument results and get first-piece stamp for operation.\nMultitasking machine set-up experience a plus.\nTooling:\nRecognizes that tool wear has occurred\nAdjusts tool offsets as necessary\nIdentifies and builds tooling according to the tool sheet. Establishes tool heights.\nIdentifies correct tool versus the tool sheet and changes the tool in the machine\nCNC Program:\nReads CNC program line-by-line to follow tools paths\nManual Inspection:\nUses standard hand tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and hard gages to ensure that parts were fabricated within specifications\nUses any specialty inspection device (ex: vision system) required in each machining cell\nCoordinate Measuring Machine (CMM):\nLoads part onto CMM and operates CMM to ensure that parts were fabricated within specifications\nQuality System & Documentation:\nReads and interprets blueprints, specifications, and quality plans to understand inspection requirements\nFills out Quality System paperwork and enters data into computer as necessary\nPlanning & Scheduling:\nOperates more than 1 machine at the same time, as required\nTraining:\nTrains other employees on the basics of operating equipment on which employee is fully competent\nTroubleshooting & Problem Solving:\nNotifies more senior machining employees, engineers, or supervisors when problems arise.\nProcess Design & Development:\nNo responsibilities\nRepairs & Reworks:\nNo responsibilities\nCompetencies\nTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:\nQuality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Monitors own work to ensure quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality\nQuantity - Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity\nSafety and security - Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly\nQualifications\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
