Our company is also supported by the UK Space Agency, the UK’s Department of Science and Technology (DSIT) and the UK Ministry of Defence.\nAbout the job\nWe’re looking for a Technical Procurement & Materials Coordinator to join our team and help ensure the parts, materials and subcontracted services required to manufacture and test our laser communications products are available when needed.\nThis is a hands-on role combining supplier coordination, materials planning, ERP / MRP administration and inventory control. You will work closely with Engineering and Production to support prototype builds, new product introduction and ongoing production of Archangel Lightworks TERRA-M Optical Ground Station products.\nYou will play an important role in maintaining an accurate and resilient supply chain, ensuring materials are correctly controlled and traceable from receipt through to production, while helping identify and resolve potential supply risks before they affect the build programme.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nMRP and Materials Management\nMaintain accurate stock, purchasing and manufacturing records within the ERP / MRP system.\nCreate and manage work orders, including multi-level sub-assemblies.\nMaintain part masters, bills of materials and manufacturing routings.\nAdd new parts and approved BOM structures to support new product introduction.\nMonitor stock shortages and plan to purchase against upcoming build requirements.\nMaintain system records for repairs and rework.\nGoods-In, Stores and Inventory Control\nManage the receipt, booking-in and storage of incoming components.\nCarry out basic visual and dimensional inspections where appropriately trained.\nIdentify, record and manage supplier non-conformances, including incorrect, damaged or out-of-specification parts.\nLiaise with suppliers to arrange replacement or corrective action and track the issue through to closure within the MRP system.\nMaintain component-to-product traceability through the MRP system and ensure relevant certificates, test reports and inspection records are stored. \nConduct periodic stock checks, investigate discrepancies and maintain inventory accuracy.\nProcurement & Supply Chain\nManage the purchase of components. Obtain and compare supplier quotations.\nTrack open purchase orders, monitor supplier acknowledgements, pricing, lead times and delivery dates.\nIdentify potential alternative parts and sources.\nResolve routine commercial, delivery and documentation queries.\nCoordinate straightforward technical supplier queries.\nLogistics and Operational Support\nCoordinate outbound shipments of products, components and subcontracted work.\nManage packaging for products.\nPrepare or obtain the necessary delivery and shipping documentation including export control processes.\nRequirements:\nA minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement, materials coordination, supply chain or a similar role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.\nExperience purchasing components, materials or subcontracted services.\nExperience using an ERP / MRP system to manage purchasing, stock or manufacturing information.\nStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple purchasing requirements, suppliers, delivery dates and stock control simultaneously is vital for this role.\nGood understanding of purchase orders, bills of materials, stock control and material requirements within a manufacturing environment.\nHigh level of attention to detail and accuracy when maintaining part, purchasing and inventory records.\nConfident communicating with suppliers and internal engineering and production teams.\nAbility to identify supply issues, investigate discrepancies and proactively follow actions through to resolution.\nComfortable working independently in a hands-on, fast-paced engineering environment.\nWillingness to support practical goods-in, stores and inventory activities as part of the role.\nDesirable additional skills:\nExperience working in a start-up or rapidly growing technology company.\nExperience working within a high-technology manufacturing environment such as within aerospace, space, or optics industries.\nExperience supporting prototype development and new product introduction (NPI).\nExperience carrying out basic visual or dimensional inspection of incoming components.\nExperience managing supplier non-conformances, returns and corrective actions.\nKnowledge of component traceability, certificates of conformity and inspection or test documentation.\nUnderstanding of supply chain risk management, alternative sourcing and supplier diversification.\nLocation: Our office is based in Osney Mead, Oxford. This is an on-site role.
