In this crucial role, you will leverage your expertise in SAP and cost accounting principles to support our manufacturing costs. As a key contributor, you will play an important role in developing and maintaining cost accounting processes, analyzing financial data, and providing insights to optimize costs.\nJob Responsibilities\nStandard Costing: Develop, implement, and maintain standard costs in SAP.\n\nCost Updates: Manage and establish processes for periodic cost updates and communicate impacts to senior management.\n\nVariance Analysis: Establish and manage standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead; track and report variances.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering and operations teams to analyze and explain material and labor variances.\n\nData-Driven Insights: Analyze historical costs, provide actionable insights, and support data-driven decision-making.\n\nFinancial Planning: Work with FP&A business partners to help analyze and explain Budgets vs. Standards vs. Actuals.\n\nProcess Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes, reporting, and automation.\n\nPeriod Close: Participate in month-end and quarter-end close processes and provide flux explanations.\n\nInventory Analysis: Prepare quarterly inventory reserve analysis.\n\nValuation & Reconciliation: Conduct inventory valuation and reconciliation, including cycle counts and obsolescence reviews.\n\nSystem Efficiency: Drive initiatives for system improvements and efficiencies by participating in UAT and cross-functional projects.\n\nSpecial Projects: Partner with cross-functional operational teams on special projects as they pertain to Cost Accounting.\n\nAudit Support: Work closely with Finance teams and internal/external auditors as needed.\n\nScalability: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to scale cost accounting operations.\n\nWhat You Need\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CMA preferred.\n\nExperience: 3-5+ years of cost accounting experience, preferably in complex, multi-plant manufacturing operations.\n\nSystems: Hands-on experience with SAP or similar ERP preferred.\n\nTechnical Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work with complex datasets within Excel and Google Sheets.\n\nTime Management: Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.\n\nCommunication: Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.\n\nAt Archer, we aim to attract, retain, and motivate talent with the skills and leadership needed to grow our business.
