Archer Aviation is an American company founded in 2018 that is developing Midnight, a battery-electric aircraft designed to take off vertically and carry a pilot and four passengers on short urban routes. Its argument is that helicopter travel has always been too loud, too expensive and too unsafe for routine city use, and that electric propulsion with distributed rotors changes all three. Headquartered in San Jose and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, it is working through Federal Aviation Administration certification while building a manufacturing plant in Georgia with Stellantis as its production partner.

Headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, Archer is a leader in the next-gen aerospace sector building an end-to-end advanced air mobility platform that delivers air taxis, unmanned aircraft systems (“UAS”), aviation-related physical artificial intelligence (“AI”) solutions, and other technologies to customers worldwide across the commercial aerospace and defense sectors.

Our sights are set high and our problems are hard, and we believe that diversity in the workplace is what makes us smarter, drives better insights, and will ultimately lift us all to success. We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.

Job Overview

The Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) is the nerve center for security and risk information at Archer. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Global Security, the GSOC Lead Intelligence Operator is the most experienced operator on the floor: you will run core GSOC monitoring and dispatch operations while also performing protective intelligence, open-source intelligence (OSINT) risk monitoring, and travel risk monitoring, and you will set the operational standard for the team. This is a senior individual-contributor role, not a management position, but it carries real weight and trust.

What sets this role apart from a GSOC Intelligence Specialist is judgment and ownership. You are trusted to make decisions and act in the moment without waiting for permission, because your judgment is proven. Beyond running operations, you help author the SOPs and configure the tools that the rest of the team relies on, including alerting, camera and video systems, and access control. This is a proof-of-concept program as we stand up the GSOC and its intelligence capability, so you will help build it, set the standard, and mentor fellow operators as the function matures. The coverage model and hours will take shape as the program grows.

Key Responsibilities

GSOC Operations & Floor Leadership

  • Monitor alarms, video surveillance, access control, and life-safety systems across Archer's sites, maintaining constant situational awareness.
  • Dispatch and coordinate response to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance, making sound decisions in the moment without needing to seek permission for routine and time-sensitive calls.
  • Serve as the standard-setter and go-to resource for fellow operators, providing guidance and escalation support on shift without acting as their manager.
  • Document incidents accurately and maintain clear logs, notifications, and shift communications, and hold the team to that standard.
  • Provide real-time support and situational awareness to field security teams and executive protection details.

Systems Configuration & Standards

  • Configure and tune the GSOC technology stack, including alerts and alarm thresholds, camera and video systems, and access control, so the team operates on reliable, well-calibrated tooling.
  • Author, maintain, and improve SOPs, protocols, and workflows that the rest of the operators follow.
  • Help build the GSOC and intelligence function's sources, tooling, and reporting standards from the ground up.

Protective Intelligence & OSINT Monitoring

  • Conduct OSINT monitoring to protect Archer's people, assets, and reputation, watching social media, news, online forums, and other open sources for threats to personnel, facilities, operations, and brand.
  • Support executive protection with protective intelligence, including threat monitoring, person-of-interest research, and event and venue intelligence.
  • Produce timely alerts and concise assessments, and escalate emerging risks to executive protection and leadership as appropriate.

Travel Risk Monitoring

  • Monitor global travel risk and support destination risk assessments and advisories for traveling employees and executives.
  • Track geopolitical, security, weather, and other events that could affect employee travel, and flag disruptions and threats promptly.

Products & Coordination

  • Produce clear, concise written products, including incident logs, spot reports, shift summaries, and intelligence briefs.
  • Coordinate closely with fellow operators, executive protection, and stakeholders across the business.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience (typically 6+ years) in a GSOC, security operations center, dispatch, or monitoring environment, and/or in intelligence analysis / OSINT, or a related security, military, or law enforcement role, including time as a senior or lead operator.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions independently and act without waiting for permission, backed by mature, reliable judgment.
  • Hands-on experience configuring security systems, including alerting/alarm thresholds, camera and video (VMS) systems, and access control.
  • Demonstrated ability to author SOPs, protocols, and workflows that others follow, not just execute them.
  • Ability to set the standard for and mentor other operators while remaining an individual contributor.
  • Ability to monitor multiple systems simultaneously, stay calm under pressure, and act decisively during incidents.
  • Open-source research skills, or a strong analytical foundation and the ability to learn OSINT tradecraft quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear logs, reports, and intelligence products.
  • Sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information and deciding what to share, with whom, and when.
  • Comfort working across multiple security and technology platforms.
  • Flexibility and willingness to support evolving coverage needs, including some evenings, weekends, or holidays, as this proof-of-concept program takes shape.
  • Uncompromising ethics and integrity, and the self-awareness to admit mistakes quickly and learn from them.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active U.S. government security clearance.
  • Protective intelligence or OSINT experience directly supporting an executive protection program.
  • Experience with travel risk or geopolitical risk monitoring.
  • Deep familiarity with GSOC platforms, video management and access control systems, intelligence and OSINT tools, social media monitoring, and dark web research.
  • Foreign language proficiency.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, technology, or another high-profile, multi-site environment.
