This position manages preventive and corrective maintenance programs, provides hands-on technical expertise, oversees facility projects and vendors, and supervises two direct reports (Mechanic and Landscaper) while also providing hands-on technical support. The Facilities Manager works collaboratively across departments to ensure facilities and equipment operate safely, and efficiently.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nThe following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.\nProvide technical winery and facility expertise\nApply hands-on knowledge of facility and winery systems (refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, controls).\nDiagnose problems, determine root causes, and schedule repair or replacement using internal labor or an outside specialist.\nPerform hands-on repairs, including chillers, HVAC, small engines, plumbing, drywall, and painting.\nLead the bottling line: preventive maintenance, changeovers, troubleshooting, pre-run preparation, in-season response, and upgrade recommendations.\nStay current through training, certifications, and industry resources.\nPlan and coordinate maintenance activities\nDevelop and manage a preventive maintenance program.\nLog, prioritize, assign, and track work orders, and update all stakeholders on status.\nManage spare and critical parts inventory.\nMaintain records of repairs, inspections, calibrations, and service.\nDevelop equipment and facility manuals, service histories, and shutdown and startup procedures.\nOversee company housing maintenance, resident requests, inspections, and turnover repairs.\nManage capital projects, budgets, and vendors\nPlan, scope, review designs for, and oversee development projects.\nBuild operational and capital budgets with Winemaking, Office, DTC, and Vineyard.\nDevelop and run the RFP process.\nManage vendors and contractors: obtain quotes, evaluate proposals, schedule work, verify completion, and confirm licensing and insurance.\nServe as company liaison during third-party testing, servicing, and regulatory inspections.\nMaintain safety, security, and SOPs\nDevelop SOPs, train staff, and ensure they are followed.\nPromote safety culture and enforce safety practices (lockout/tagout, confined space, chemical, electrical) for staff, vendors, and visitors.\nCorrect hazards promptly and support incident investigation.\nInspect and document facilities and equipment.\nAdminister security (keys, passcodes, alarm companies).\nRespond to facility and company housing emergencies, assess conditions, implement appropriate safety measures, and coordinate internal resources or qualified external contractors as needed. \nLead the team and coordinate across departments\nOversee employee performance, work assignments, scheduling, training, and development while ensuring compliance with company policies and established safety procedures.\nRecruit, counsel, and manage disciplinary actions.\nCommunicate regularly with Winemaking, the Tasting Room, Office, DTC, and Vineyard.\nPlan seasonally for harvest, crush, bottling, and hospitality events.\nQualifications\nEducation: Bachelor's degree or associate degree preferred.\nSeven or more years of experience in winery and facilities maintenance, including supervisory responsibilities preferable.\nMust demonstrate a high level of professionalism, effectively manage conflicts and foster a positive and collaborative work environment. \nStrong project management skills.\nExperience leading, managing and developing staff.\nMust have experience with Process Wastewater and Stormwater as it pertains to management and regulatory requirements of the City of Healdsburg and Sonoma County.\nAdaptable and flexible in changing work environments.\nProven analytical thinker with thoughtful decision making and resolution management skills.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nMust be proficient with Excel, Word and other basic software. Must be able to enter data and analyze collected data for use in decision making.\nHVAC Certification is highly desirable but not required.\nElectrical Certification is highly desirable but not required. Must have basic AC and DC electrical circuit knowledge.\nDemonstrate commitment to continuous learning and professional development.\nMust have a valid driver’s license.\nAbility to lift or move a minimum of 50 pounds regularly.\nMust be able to stand and work on foot for extended periods of time.\nBilingual, English / Spanish preferred but not required.\nThe projected base salary range for this position is $120k -125k annually, with opportunity for a bonus.\nThe range is the projected compensation for this position, however the actual compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as (but not limited to) candidate qualifications, related experience and education, candidate work location and market data.
