With offices in London, Vilnius and Kaunas, Architus has a strong track record and an impressive list of clients, including Invesco, Tide, Capital Group, Schroders, BNP Paribas, and HSBC.\nThe Opportunity\nArchitus is partnering with a leading UK energy company to help build a significant presence in Lithuania. With a reputation for innovation, the company is tackling some of the world’s most pressing challenges by creating better energy systems for the planet and everyone on it.\nThis is an exciting time to join the company as it continues to expand, offering numerous opportunities for professional development. You will be part of a passionate team dedicated to making a tangible difference in the world through cutting-edge technology, driven by a dynamic and entrepreneurial spirit.\nAbout the Role\nAs a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving a major Identity and Access Management (IAM) transformation. You will take full technical ownership of migrating their authentication ecosystem from a third-party hosted IdP to a highly scalable, self-hosted Keycloak platform. This high-impact project is pivotal to their long-term platform independence and modern cloud architecture.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nThis is an Individual Contributor role without formal people management responsibilities, but with the opportunity to lead a mission-critical technical initiative, establish migration standards, and mentor team members. You’ll join a small, senior engineering team delivering one of the organisation's most important platform modernisation initiatives. Success in this role comes from combining strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to contribute across authentication, platform engineering, and cloud-native systems. While no single technology is considered mandatory, we value engineers who can work independently, collaborate closely with experienced teammates, and adapt across different technical challenges.\nDesigning & Delivering Authentication Platform Changes: Help design and deliver the migration to a self-hosted Keycloak platform on GCP/Kubernetes, contributing to architecture, implementation, and rollout planning alongside experienced engineers.\n Executing Complex Migrations: Lead the major-version upgrade of Keycloak, design realm/client/role export-import tooling, and implement user migration strategies (preserving password hashes or designing lazy-migration/credential-reset flows).\n Vendor Offboarding & Data Extraction: Negotiate and validate third-party data extractions (DB dumps vs. API exports) to ensure complete and secure data transfer.\nPlatform & GitOps Engineering: Build and manage stateful workloads on Kubernetes using Helm, setting up robust Argo CD / GitOps workflows, TLS/certificate handling, and GCP Secret Manager integration.\nCollaboration & Technical Alignment: Work closely with software, platform, and security engineers to deliver the migration, sharing ideas, agreeing technical direction, and independently driving implementation.\nBest Practices & Knowledge Transfer: Help improve engineering standards, documentation, and operational practices while sharing knowledge across the team.\n What We Are Looking for\nStrong software engineering fundamentals combined with experience in at least two of the following areas:- Authentication & Identity;\n- Backend Software Engineering;\n- Platform / Cloud Engineering.\n\nExperience with TypeScript is an advantage, as it is the team's primary development language. Experience with Scala or Java is also valuable but not required.\nStrong understanding of modern authentication concepts, protocols and identity systems (OIDC, OAuth2, SAML or similar). Direct Keycloak experience is beneficial but not required.\nHands-on experience designing and operating scalable, reliable cloud-native solutions, ideally on GCP, or alternatively AWS or Azure.\nSolid experience with Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps (Argo CD), CI/CD and modern software delivery practices.\nExperience planning and delivering complex platform or system migrations with minimal downtime.\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform is beneficial.\nExperience integrating with third-party platforms and working with relational databases.\nA solid understanding of software engineering best practices, automation and observability.\nComfortable working in an agile, collaborative environment and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nExperience leading technical initiatives, influencing architectural decisions or providing technical leadership across teams. People management experience is not required.\nExperience with identity platform migrations, custom Keycloak extensions (SPIs), observability, or financial services is a plus.\nExcellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.\nWhat You’ll Get in Return\nSalary: Starting from €9000 gross/month, depending on your experience (full-time only).\nCareer Growth: Accelerate your professional journey by working with cutting-edge technologies in a truly global environment.\nHolidays: Enjoy extra vacation days to recharge and unwind.\nFlexibility: Benefit from hybrid working options for a healthy work-life balance.\nWorkplace: A modern, pet-friendly office equipped with parking and plenty of snacks to keep you fueled and productive.\nWork Abroad: Enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from another EU country for up to 30 days per year.\nHigh-Spec Hardware: Brand-new, high-performance equipment provided to support your work from day one.\nTeam Environment: A dynamic, collaborative, and friendly working atmosphere.\nPerks: Enjoy additional health insurance, plan for the future with 3rd-pillar pension benefits, and perform at your best with high-spec hardware.\nReady to Join Us?\nIf you’re excited about this opportunity and believe you’re the right fit, we’d love to hear from you!\nApply now and let’s create something amazing together. We look forward to meeting the next Architus star!","description_format":"text","description_chars":6189,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[{"language":"English","level":"Upper-Intermediate (B2)","optional":false}]},"benefits":["Health insurance","Hybrid work","Professional development"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"Lithuania","iso":"LT","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["IT Outsourcing & Dedicated Teams","IT Staffing & Staff Augmentation"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-28T19:07:30Z"}],"liveness":{"score":90,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.903,"p_room":1,"age_days":2,"expected_fill_days":42,"reasons":["conf:12","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":122880,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/architus-staff-software-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/architus-staff-software-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-02T01:29:51Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":1802,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":3198,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-03T00:00:00Z"}}}
