We are an inclusive team of unique individuals who show up each day with a grateful spirit, humble heart, and a genuine respect for one another.\nJob Title: Engineering Manager\nDepartment: Maintenance\nReports to: General Manager\nFLSA Status: Non-Exempt\nRevised: 11/2016\nSUMMARY\nManages and supervises engineering and housekeeping staff. Maintains entire facility, including the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs.\nEssential Functions:\nHiring, training, supervising, scheduling, and disciplining department staff.\nAdheres to all property-required purchasing policies and controls, including, but not limited to, all outside contractor bids, budgets, and schedules. Follows prescribed safety procedures for personnel and equipment by the company and OSHA.\nInforms the General Manager and department heads on a regular basis regarding the specific and overall condition of the building structure(s), related systems, and equipment offering prudent, cost effective proposals for maintaining these systems. Access and input information into a computer and generate reports.\nSupervises necessary repairs and maintenance throughout.\nPrepares technical data, bidding, project work, alterations, and repairs for properties. \nConducts walk-throughs and visually assesses the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structure(s) of the location, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment.\nVerifies completion of all routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, outlets, back of the house spaces, and grounds. Verifies completion of all repairs, replacement, and renovation projects in all areas.\nMaintains effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs and conducts special training for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy.\nPerforms necessary repairs and maintenance.\nActively trains in fire prevention, environmental health and safety, and engineering systems. Attends all meetings regarding operations, i.e., department, fire, safety, health, and quality improvement.\nAttends morning walk around as required.\nEnsures a pleasant visit for each guest; maintains effective guest relations.\nPerforms special projects delegated by management.\nStays updated on the latest developments pertinent to the department as well as the location.\nProcesses invoices and is responsible for department financials.\nAny job as needed or requested.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Proven experience managing facilities maintenance; dealing with stressful situations; and demonstrated outstanding customer service. Proven experience managing engineering operations. Must possess willingness to learn and perform new engineering programs and services. Excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, drive, and motivation. Flexibility with schedule, with evenings and weekend work as required.\nLANGUAGE SKILLS\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and interpret retail product labeling. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.\nREASONING ABILITY\nAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
